Vallarta Cora Hotel
Reviewed October 5, 2009

Cora Vallarta is in a great loacation in Old town......walking distance to all the bars, restaurants ..beach. The place is a little dated, but the staff are friendly, helpful. There was daily room service, clean sheets etc. Its Not The Ritz, but compares favourably to gay owned adult places in Palm Springs. The rooms are spacious, with an ensuite sitting area, kitchen. If you like to meet hot locals, stay around the pool area at night.

I've stayed at the Vallarta Cora at least five times in as many years. It's conveniently located -- an easy walk to the gay bars and restaurants of the Romantic Zone and two blocks (up a very steep hill) to beach. The gay beach is about two blocks down.

The Cora is a gated cylindrical compound with the rooms all facing a small pool. Each room has a large bath, bedroom, a living/dining room, and small kitchen. The furnishings are humble but the staff is very nice, the place is meticulously cleaned, and security is good.

There is a daily happy hour and nudity is permitted beginning in the later afternoon. The scene is very friendly and it does attract handsome young guys, some of them rentboys.
There is a bar, a steam room, lockers for day visitors (those not staying at the hotel can get a locker and towel), a sun deck, and a huge hot tub. While there is absolutely no pressure from anyone, it would be fair to say it has a high sexual quotient.

Someone looking for a cookie cutter American hotel room may be disappointed, but I find the place just fine. There is loud musi from the jukebox by the pool and bar but it is turned down and the place is quiet by late evening.

Kitchenettes in the rooms, gas leak smell in all of the rooms, the owner is a rude Canadian who at times has problems with the police because of very young hustlers frequenting the establishment. Sorry there is not much to say about here, I would not stay again, as a matter of fact I left early since I was getting ripped off.
This property is what makes gay establishments not patronized by the gay community.
