“Best Experience in PV”
Reviewed October 8, 2009

We wandered into this comfortable little cafe with welcoming doors open wide to a mellow street a few blocks away from the main drag after a long day of exploration. There were 7 or 8 of us gringos dragging out kids and feet. As soon as we say down the people here started to make us feel right at home. We were with a couple who are vegetarians and had already eaten, but they were still kind enough to bring out some vegi tostadas when we all ate. "On the house! Everyone needs a snack!" Then when we commented on the Luchiador masks and art, they asked if we like wrestling and a few of us said they were fans of it in the US they all suddenly dissappeared... a ruckus in the kitchen... then the whole staff (4) came out playfighting in Luchiador masks and ribbing us on in our laughter. So fun and friendly.

The food, homemade everything. Fresh. Snappy. Delicious. We even liked this place enough to come back 2 days later (I ordered the daily catch of Red Snapper. Terriific!)

The people, wonderful, and friendly.

If there was a complaint, it would be that the fumes from the road could be troublesome. The buses seem to blow their exhaust right into the joint. Not withstanding, this is the favorite of not just myself, but 6-7 others.

Best place we found. Will go again when I have the opportunity!

“Memo is amazing and his food is even better!”
Reviewed August 19, 2009

I've known Memo Wulff since I was a little girl, and have been coming to PV for as long as I can remember. My family and I have witnessed Memo in all of his culinary expertise, everything from Las Palomas to El Dorado. But here, at Maria Gallo, his culinary brilliance unites, to create a restaurant that is both environmentally pleasing, full of life, and packed with delicious mexican cuisine! He has truly outdone himself and has a genuine "home" where his talent can thrive and be recognized for all that it is. Thanks again Memo, we love you.

“Memo is a culinary genius!!”
Reviewed June 29, 2009

Do not miss Maria Gallo, por favor! This is one of the few authentic & non-touristy restaurants in Vallarta. Memo gives his own unique & contemporary spin on traditional mexican faire, and it WORKS. And he treats you like family, like you've wandered into his house. So amazing...salud Memo!!
