“SO Comfortable! SO beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

I stayed at Villa Elena for a few days and loved it. I had left the frozen, frigid icy sidewalks of New York behind me for this tropical paradise. It's up a hill in the jungle, looking out over the broad blue Pacific. Sunshine, birdsong, a hammock by the pool. My room was excellent. Comfortable bed, great linens...I was a happy camper. Vallarta is bawdy and a bit tourist tawdry...in other words, a LOT of fun...Villa Elena, offers the perfect place to recover before going back for more. I took the bus - virtually from the front gate - into town for about twenty-five cents, and a late-night taxi back for about four dollars. It's a great place for singles or families. The staff are wonderful...tip them generously, they deserve it!

Room Tip: I could see the Pacific in the distance from my room

We knew we made a great choice as soon as we walked through the beautiful courtyard and were greeted by the sound of water cascading down into the pool, Mexican music and a staff waiting to serve us the best guacamole and Margarita's we've ever had. They even remembered to make a pitcher of "virgin" margarita's for the kids ! The setting is spectacular with beautiful views from every room and little courtyards , hammocks and lounge chairs set perfectly throughout the property to capture that view. The place is large enough that you can travel with a group of families and still each have plenty of private space when you want it. Lupita and Juan Carlos are warm and welcoming ready to make any meal or snack your group wants. We hired a yoga teacher to do a class for our family by the pool which was really special and surprisingly affordable. There are so many great activities that are easy to visit while you're there ( we especially loved zip lining in the jungle and the Botanical gardens ) but the place is so beautiful we ended up spending lots of time hanging out by the pool and just relaxing.
I agree with previous reviews, this place is a hidden gem !

Room Tip: Couples should ask for the upper level room with the private balcony and rock wall tub and shower.

Being my first time in Puerto Vallarta, I am glad that I was able to stay in such a wonderful villa. The staff was extremely friendly and great at what they do (they are also wonderful cooks). The room was beautiful and had an amazing shower. The view was great and the beach is a short walk away. Grabbing a taxi to town was also quite easy. Its the perfect combination of city and nature. I loved it!

Hacienda Elena is an amazing place to stay at, I had the opportunity to spend a few days with a friend at this place and from the moment that I put a foot in this hacienda we were amazed by the architecture and the surroundings of the place. The view of the mountains and partial view of the ocean and city was wonderful. A beautiful beach right across the street, not far from downtown. It has some very relaxing places where you can spend time reading a book, having some coffee, or even playing with the kids. The rooms are in excellent conditions and the pool was the perfect place to spend the night staring at the stars since the weather is always perfect for this. In the mornings you are able to hear the birds singing outside. The staff was nice and always caring for what you need. I definitely recommend this place to stay, it has everything you can ask for a great vacation at Puerto Vallarta.

I just returned and had a wonderful time at this hidden gem. Wonderful Authentic Mexican villa tucked away in the rainforest yet walking distance to the beach. Wonderful views, loved hearing the river right under my window each night.

A great place to relax by the pool in peace before exploring old town Puerto Vallarta. Very clean with modern amenities but full of old world Mexican charm.

This was my fourth visit to Hacienda Elena. We didn't go last year and regretted it. I was so glad to find the same professional staff there doing a fine job and the place was a beautiful as I remembered it. The staff is still courteous, friendly and most of all helpful. The location is just far enough away from downtown to be serene and peaceful but not so far away that as to be inconvient. This year we explored the river that passes by the property for a couple of miles, went to a nearby zip-lining park and also just enjoyed the warmth and beauty of Bandaras Bay.

Room Tip: I like the one near the dipping pool
