We had a great, romantic meal at El Palomar. Authentic, mexican atmosphere high above Puerto Vallarta. All the tables had great views and were strung along a beautiful balcony (with a pool/waterfall in the middle) Food was very good (we didn't get it...but they had a huge seafood platter for two for $95 which sounded like a great deal), fun drinks, flaming coffee at the end is a must.

Highly recommend!

Outstanding restaurant - make sure you have reservations. Once you are there, hang out in the lounge area at the bottom of the steps near the couches. If you stay up in the the little lounge near the entrance, the host may forget about you.

Once we were seated, the service was great. Also wonderful view and ambience - maybe a little noisy.

We had the Ceasar salad for two made table side and then split a steak and lobster dinner. It was more than enough food for the two of us and very good.

Don't miss it when in PV

We just returned from PV yesterday and this was our favorite restaurant. The view, staff, and food were all amazing.

We had the scallops appetizer and would return just for that. Dinner was steak, lobster, and stuffed shrimp done just right. Dessert was bananas foster prepared table-side. It was wonderful.

I don't review restaurants for a living so I don't know how to put in words how much we enjoyed this place. But if you want a nice quiet dinner with a great view, give it a try.

We made reservations upon the recommendation of a local and were not disappointed. They offer a seafood platter that, although some what pricey for two, fed three pretty easily and was very tasty. The views of the city and ocean were outstanding. We did not have a sunset to look at as the time of the year (early December) had the sun setting further south behind the Sierra Madre. We took a taxi from Nuevo Vallarta and it was about 45min and $24. If you were to walk from the boardwalk area it would be about 10 or so blocks but it is on the hill and is rather steep. Good chips and salsa/guacamole and the after dinner drink it very tasty, pretty much a desert.
