Went to catch up with the kids watching the game. It was busy and service not at its best. Ordered calamari. It was Ok but the potato wedges that came with it were great Cold beer and a cheering crowd made it fun.

A great sports bar right on the property for Villa Del Palmar. It is clean inside, new paint, furnishings, big screen Tv's , a bar and pool table. Seats and booths as well.

We actually watched the election results come in while int he sports bar for a drink. Yes it is air conditioned so that is another plus.

The service if friendly and the manager is efficient. They offer many drinks, beers, specials and promotions. Wings are a top commodity along with different burgers. Fridays are 2x1 burgers and Saturdays 2x1 sport wings. They will give you a menu to go if you like which is great in deciding when to go there.

For the atmosphere, service and proximity to VDP if you are staying there the prices are great. No taxi, no walk ..just there. So in essence regular sports bar prices on the finer side of sports bars.

Our drinks were very good, no pressure to order more than you wanted. Would have been a nice touch if they offered popcorn or chips if drinking and not eating..suggestions please!

My only concern and dislike was when we got the bill, it already had a gratuity on the bill, less than what I would have tipped but still it was on the bil and no mention was made of it, so I do not like that. Since the management chose the gratuity that is what was paid. Would have done better if I tipped my usual.
I know in some places for large groups that is the norm but not for a party of 2. Might want to rethink that decision and or be sure to tell customers when giving them the bill.

Otherwise we had a nice time, felt comfortable and will go back for sure!

We have stayed at Villa Del Palmar 25 times in the last 27 years. The Villa Del Mar sister resort is located between the main Avenue and the Villa Del Palmar. Coming off the Avenue we have walked through its lobby hundreds of times on our way to the Del Palmar where we stay. This year we found a new sports bar occupying the original Villa Del Mar lobby. Imagine our surprise when we walked in from the street carrying multiple bags of groceries from the local supermarket. Oops!

Jalisco Sports Bar is eight months old. The furniture is new, the paint is fresh, it sparkles. The staff are very friendly and did not make us feel awkward walking through the restaurant carrying groceries.

We decided to look at the menu and made the decision to return for a late meal Friday night. The Bar was quite busy. We were showed to an excellent table where we had unimpeded viewing of multiple big screen TV's. There was a group of happy customers playing pool in a corner of the Bar. The atmosphere seemed very positive.

For our meal we selected the shrimp burger, their most expensive burger at 190 pesos, but a two for one deal on a Friday. We chose lemonade as the drink. After happy hour(s) at poolside, more alcoholic drinks held no allure. The waiter was absolutely fine with that. Zero pressure to purchase more expensive beverages.

The burgers came after a somewhat longish wait, and were fabulous. The buns had body, they were solid, substantial, unsoaked or drippy with sauce. They were filled with perfectly prepared generously portioned large shrimp with just enough sauce to compliment the shrimp. The burgers were excellent. The plate came with a serving of tasty fries and a small dish of coleslaw. Neither of us could eat all the fries. We were just too full.

The total bill was 260 pesos including tip. We would eat there again.

One thing we found on the bill, the second restaurant bill we found this on this trip, is that in the item column detailing the things you ate or drank, there is another item called suggested gratuity, and it has already added 12% to the total bill. Then at the bottom of the bill, below the total amount (already including the suggested gratuity) is another space for additional gratuity. If you do not scan the items and simply add another 15 percent, which is what we usually tip, you would be tipping a very generous 27%. This is the first year we have run across billing like this. Back home restaurants do this for large groups, but for two of us it does not happen. But here it does, so do look for it.
