“Value + great coffee”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

This is one of our favorite breakfast spots when on a shopping day in Vallarta. It is located on Basilio Badillo right around the corner from the Boca bus stop. Service is good, food is plentiful and delicious, and if you enjoy the coffee (called Memo's) you can buy a supply on the way out. On the weekends the place is packed, so plan ahead.

“Many better options!”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

My husband's pancakes were burned. When this was brought to the attention of the waiter, he tried to pass off the issue as being "darker" because they were whole wheat. Interesting too, since his cakes were served quite some time before I received my meal. Won't go back as there are many other reliable options.

“Great Breakfast”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Great breakfast at a reasonable price - enough said! Go during off times to avoid the lines. I think they close around 2 PM.

“A unique breakfast or lunch experience”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Memo's (aka The Pancake House) provides a unique experience. The food is great; the prices are very low, and we love the atmosphere. If you go for breakfast, you won't need lunch. For example, my wife had Eggs Benedict (two eggs "benny", served with re-fried beans or shredded hash-browns, and a slice of watermelon with bananas). I had a huge maple pecan waffle (with strawberries, banana and whipped cream). All orders seem to come with toasted French bread and jam. We both also had coffee (free re-fills). The total cost (pre-tip) was only 148 pesos--i.e. $11.75 U.S. at current rates.

Memos is easy to find. It is in the Zona Romantico of P.V., at 289 Basiiio Badillo, just off Constitucion.

NOTE: They are only open until about 1 pm. They only accept cash (pesos or U.S.$).

“Nice place for breakfast”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Some mornings we got tacos from a nearby stand or had fruit and toast in our room, but a couple of times we ate here. The service is good, portions are generous and everything was delicious. On Tuesday we arrived when they opened at 8 and we had the place almost to ourselves, but on Saturday morning the place was packed. Fortunately, both times we sat in the back, away from the street and under the canopy of trees and orchids, which was very pleasant.
