“Best margaritas on the beach”
Reviewed February 5, 2013 via mobile

What a surprise! For a casual " Happy Hour" on the beach, this can't be beaten! Mango margaritas are addict ing! If you want Mexican seaside ambience, this is the place to start!

“Location, Location, Location”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

This restaurant is located at the intersection of the Malecon and Los Muertos Pier. While the spot is excellent for client visibility, it attracts noise, and an endless stream of beach vendors. This was not a relaxing experience. If you are waiting for the water taxi to Yelapa, my suggestion is to walk out onto the recently completed pier and just enjoy your own time and space.

“Right on the beach”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

I've been going to this little beachside place for ten years now. It is casual dining, to be sure. I'd suggest sitting at a table away from the sidewalk so the vendors don't stop and bug you. They serva a nice little breakfast and great food into the early evening. Happy hour doubles your drinks and anytime you can get a bucket of beer. Lots of ex-pats meet there in the afternoons and have for many years.

The highlight of the day is sunset. You are right on the sand with an unobstructed view of the beautiful setting sun on the Banderas Bay.

It is wide open, not much more the a la palapa and is family friendly.

“Finally Made It”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

After many years of walking by we finally stepped inside. It was delightfully decorated with many cobs of harvested corn hanging here and there and some authentic Mexican statues and colors. We were supplied bowls of popcorn and nachos/salsa after placing our drink orders. Our food was delicious and hot when it arrived for the 4 of us. Watching the activity around the new pier was interesting as all "people watchig" is. The service provided was friendly and timely. We will return with visitors.

“A simple but great sea side restaurant.”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Cuates y Cuetes is the kind of place you can go with a friend to while away the afternoon with a bucket of beer or just a quick simple club sandwich. It explains its self just by being. It is a hustling bustling, hurry catch the water taxi kind of place or it's the kind of place that you sink down in the sand and take a whole afternoon to stare at the water.
It has good food and an even better view. Recently, I had the chicken enchiladas served with stewed black beans and delicious guacamole. The menu, while it is simple and typically Mexican, provides something for just about everyone.
