“Romantic restaurant with a beautiful view”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

Really enjoyed this place! It's more on the elegant and quiet side which is exactly what we wanted.

Delicious food with good sized portions, we had a nice bottle of Argentine wine for about $30, and the service was quite good. Overall it is a restaurant I would enjoy if I was at home, although it was less than half of what we would pay here!

“Nice Experience”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

My second trip to Barcelona Tapas...Many stairs are a barrier, but if you hang onto the railing you should make it...Dining on three levels, but the view is best from the top. Reservations are often needed. Best reached by taxi as situated uphill with rough cobblestone streets or don't wear evening sandals...
The food was interesting and well prepared. The potato salad was delicious, beets with goat cheese, yummy. The portions re large, so recommend coming with four people so you can share a large variety of tapas...each platter was enough for at least four to six people...Best to reach concensus on the ordr and everyone share.

“Always Great”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Once again Barcelona Tapas did not disappoint. The food, as always, was great.
Our favorite is the Tuna Canolone and the potato salad that they give you when you sit down.
But we never had a bad course there. The claim chowder was wonderful---and my wife is from New England so she knows claim chowder.

The only drawback it the steps. Besides being on a hilly street--you then have to walk up 3 flights of stairs. So, if your knees can take it -- make the trip.

“Still the best tapas”
Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

Been eating here since it opened, and everything was perfect fresh and good. My favorite is the goat cheese tapas in tomatoe sauce and now a new one, the scallops!!! Going there is a must!!!

“Fell In Love with Barcelona Tapas on Valentines Day”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

We spent our last night in Puerto Vallarta, which coincidentally was Valentine's Day, at the wonderful & romantic Barcelona Tapas. Up 3 flights of stairs, we found ourselves overlooking the city in a unique restaurant that seems to overlook nothing. There were so many things on the menu that we were a bit overwhelmed, so we wisely chose the 6 course prix fixe. We got a choice of 3 soups; a delicious salad; three courses of 3, then 2, then 1 large tapas plates to share for 4 of us and finally a plate of four decadent desserts. They even gave everyone liqueurs on the house & cookie valentines for the senoritas. Great service, tasty food and a terrific view. Highly recommend Barcelona Tapas as a destination when you're in Puerto Vallarta.
