We went to Kaiser Maximilian last night for Restaurant Week. We have been coming to PV for 10 years and always passed it and wanted to eat there but never have. It's a lovely little wood and mirrored place reminiscent of a French bistro or European Café. We arrived around 9:00pm and there was only 1 small table inside, although all the tables outside were open (it was a warm evening). We were afraid since we didn't have reservations we may have to come back or eat outside but they were more than hospitable to give the table to us inside.
While the menus on the Restaurant Week website list 3 items in each category we were very pleased to get a menu that had many more choices included in the $299 pesos per person special.
We got the red cabbage soup and crab cakes for appetizers. Both were large and delectable! One got the Beef Tenderloin with gorgonzola sauce and one got the mixed combo of shrimp, fish filet and small chicken breast all in a smoked chipotle sauce. Again both very nice size portions, properly seasoned on all and delicious!
We both got dessert (included) one got the Bananas, pecan and vanilla ice cream and one had the Chocolate pot de crème.
Cannot recommend dinner here enough. We were not rushed, service was impeccable, food outstanding and for the value can't be beat!
