Description: The Blue Shrimp Restaurant in Puerto Vallarta is the best seafood restaurant in the area, long time established. Situated off Olas Altas Beach, on the ocean with spectacular daily view of the sunset, The Blue Shrimp Restaurant is a fun atmosphere with occasional live entertainment, under a large palapa roof and ‘boat-deck’ feel. Open for lunch and dinner, The Blue Shrimp Restaurant serves mouth-watering seafood and shrimp concoctions that you cannot find anywhere else! The restaurant is a great place to bring the family, celebrate a birthday, romantic dinner, or special event. Come sit down with us, right at the end of the Malecon and feel the breeze of the Banderas Bay, it’s Shrimply The Best!

“They've Got Shrimp!”

The location is great, on the beach, cool decor and they often have live entertainment which really adds to the feel of the place. And they have shrimp in all sizes and prepared in many ways. You order by the kilo or half kilo. So come hungry. I have had the coconut shrimp which were dynamite but too much food for me.

The other night I just had an appetizer and shared one or tow of my husbands shrimp. He had 12 so he didn't miss any. It's not cheap... But you do get a lot of shrimp.

“Ok”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

The actual ambience of the restaurant is amazing, being right on the beach, but the food and service are just ok
Since they specialize in shrimp you would think that they know how to cook them, unfortunatly we had some shrimp that we're undercooked, and most of the shrimp tasted the same even though they were prepared differently, as for the service it seemed as they didn't have enough staff

“Nice dinner”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

We enjoyed our meal and the live music at this restaurant. I had the shrimp diablo (they offer several ways to have shrimp) and it was very good. I've had it in Italian restaurants with noodles, here it was with rice. They also had a decent salad bar.

“Just OK”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

We had a nice beachfront table at sunset to enjoy the view of ocean and the changing colours of the Los Muertos pier. Our waiter recommended that we share the most expensive dish on the menu, some kind of shrimp boat, but we opted for a couple of appetisers and one shared main entree of garlic shrimp. The caesar salad was not very good - too much bad dressing - and the avocado with shrimp and main course were just ok. Our wine selection was good and nicely chilled. The service was ok; not particularly attentive but not atrocious, either. The best thing about the experience was the musician, a guitarist who played and sang Gypsy Kings music - he was great. For the cost - about $150. with tip - we were underwhelmed.

“The best beach bar/restaurant”
Reviewed February 6, 2014

This is hands down the best spot to eat/drink on the beach. The prices are reasonable and there are benches/tables down on the beach to eat/drink/smoke at. The staff is friendly and the owner Martin is a really good guy. The only drawback is the singer that works some nights. There's good lounge singers, ones so bad they're good then just plain bad, this is him. However do not let taht discourage you.
