This resort is a time share, people coming to El Cid El Moro need to know this. From the moment you board the bus to the resort from the airport you are hit with the beginning of the time share presentation during your stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful at the resort. No complaints there at all. The food is better at some of the on site dining venues than others. The large buffet in the evening also has a show that changes daily and is quite good. The food at the buffet is average. We tried several days to make reservations at the specialty restaurants but were only successful once during our week stay. La Concha has very good food and their staff is also Excellent. The pools are very clean and neat and the all inclusive service by the staff is very good. If you like the beach during your resort stay, understand that the beach is public except for the first 15 feet from the resort wall. Then you will be bombarded by folks selling trinkets, hats etc. The ocean water is not clean. The pools are warm and nice to swim in except for the adults only area. Again, the staff if very helpful and friendly, the was is very cold!! Now for the room, it was a clean small studio, the beds were full size (not queen) and hard as stones. We did ask about moving but were told the beds in those size room are all alike. OK, If you stay on the north side of the main tower, don't plan on sleeping much on Friday and Saturday nights. We were 16 floors up, the veyry loud music from the Discos across the street lasted until 4;30 AM. Just want folks to be aware. If you don't attend a time share presentation, you must provide you own transport back to the airport. That will do. Our bottom line is there a simply too many people at the resort. It is large and you must wait In line for many things. If you are ok with that then maybe it is for you. Not for us though.
Lodging was great. Room was well equipped, clean, and had two bathrooms not just one as advertised. Resort staff was attentive and polite. My wife, 20 year old daughter, and I had a great time. Restaurants at Machado Square were really good and reasonably priced. Complimentary cold beer at check in (one for each of us) was a nice touch. We did not have a problem with the beach loungers.
