The pizza was great, plenty of toppings, good sauce, the crust was also delicious. The waiters are very friendly and the service was good.

Great pizza cooked in the brick oven out back but the service is so so. Few of the servers speak english and had mistakes on the bill a few times.

On our last day here, we ate the best thin crust pizza with ice cold cerveza in frosted glasses. The brownie with banana ice cream was to die for!

We dropped in mid day. There was only one other table occupied. I asked if they would make a pizza and "si, claro", yes, of course was the answer. I questioned whether the pizza was fresh or frozen. The waiter took me outside in the back to show me a large brick pizza oven, a woman was just using the peel to pull out a fresh pizza. The restaurant offered a variety of toppings. It was fresh and very good, I will be back

A return trip to La Mona in the old town location after having eaten there two years ago proves that the formula still works. They have excellent thin-crust pizza, not too hard, not too soft, not soggy with toppings, but generous enough to have a flavour burst in each bite. The price was right too. Two of us were very full on the standard size pizza at 185 pesos (about $16 in US or CDN). The service was attentive and though we wanted to practise our Spanish, the English spoken there was very good. The biggest complaint I would have is that at a neighbouring table, the light was out (as were several of the lights in the restaurant) and the people had a problem reading their bill. But I also think those people had a couple too many cervesas! LOL!
