Owner description: Stretching from the original Mazatlan past the Golden Zone to the end of Cerritos Beach, Mazatlan's waterfront street is the backbone of the city.

The Malecon runs from the south end of the Golden Zone to Centro, and is made of concrete along the ocean which is about 9 miles. There are lots of benches and round areas to watch the ocean and the people riding the waves. There are bronze statutes along the Malecon in numerous spots and all are well down. An interesting place to walk and if you get tired, you can flag down a bus or go to the bus stops which are all along the Malecon .

Very wide and goes on for miles. We walked alot of it and always took a bus back. At carnival it was jammed packed. The art along the way is great and so many shops to stop at.

A great boulevard with mile after mile of unbroken pavement with the beach and ocean on one side. Lots of cafes and restaurants on the other. What a treat to be able to walk without always looking down and watching for broken sidewalk or fearing low-hanging air conditioners. There may be the occasional perro poop, but that won't break a leg. Quiet during the day, but around six pm all of Mazatlan comes out to play - young, old, tourists, locals - jogging, biking, skate boarding, roller blading, or just strolling - there is plenty of room for all. And what a perfect place to catch the spectacular sunsets here. Best of all - it is free!
If you are feeling ambitious, you can walk from Valentinos at one end to downtown in a little over an hour.
Praise be to the city fathers, or whoever was responsible for creating this wonderful walkway. And when I am crowned emperor of the universe I shall arrange to have it all steam cleaned to remove all the chewing gum and other stains and bring it back to its original pristine glory.
