We should know better than to go to an italian restaurant in a mexican tourist town, but our friends have kids who were over going to all the great mexican places we've been trying on our trip. This place was terrible. The service was slow and awkward. Our pasta arrived tepid to cold, and it was another 15 mnutes before the pizzas arrived for the two people at the table who ordered them. The calamari was like chewing rubber bands, and served with a tasteless tomato sauce. The Caesar salad was swimming in an oily dressing. This place is what you'd expect at a bad American chain restaurant. Don't bother!

Being from a very italian town in NJ I would have to say this restaurant is no bueno. Steer clear of the red sauces they taste like Chef Boyardee. The white sauces were more palatable. The best was the Calamari appetizer with mushrooms and onions, better than the fried. The garlic soup was also very tasty. The salads are blah. The wine selection was decent, a bit pricey like in the U.S. There are way batter options, skip this. The service and ambiance was decent.

Close to the heart of the golden zone--across from El Cid ..good flavorful italian food..We likie the antipasto tray with a shared fettuccini alfredo..enough for two people...and a nice wine list

My gf and i discovered this place back in 2008 (it's actually on camaron sabalo, right accross the street from Senor Frogs and the El Cid Hotel) when i was recovering from knee replacement surgery. The 1st time there we had the wood-fire pizza. which we enjoyed so much, we went back a couple days later and i had the shrimp scampi, which was outstanding! Fast forward to February 2012: we went to Villa Italia again. i had cannelloni, which was beyond outstanding!! I can't say enough good tghings about Villa Italia. Wonderful food. nicely decorated, outstanding service. Highly recommended.

while in Mazatlan, the four of us ate here 3 times. we had at least 10 different dishes during there visits, all excellent. i personally ate the veal parmisian twice. real veal, excellent sauce and presentation. also had their surf/turf-small filet and about a dozen shrimp scampi with fettucini Alfredo-excellent. we are from Boston Providence and know what good Italian food is. Eat here you wnon't be disappointed.
