Beautiful hotel, great staff and so accommodating. Did the 90 presentation for the time share and purchased the master suite. Mario was a great salesperson-no pressure. We feel like we have known him for years. Julio-another great employee-feel like we have known him for years also. Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to sit with us on our last, waiting for our bus to the airport. I cannot remember the name of the other salesperson that sat with us but he gave us a lot of information on what lies in the future of the hotel and the additions the hotel is making. He is very excited about it which gets us excited to return. Love the train idea. Alex-the bellman also very nice and such a hard worker. We cannot wait to return to see our Emerald Bay family. We love the people of Mazatlan too.
Thank you Mario and Julio for everything. What a grand vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at PB Emerald Bay July 5-9th. The hotel was absolutely fabulous. Extremely clean and well kept. The grounds are beautiful with black swans, Pink Flamingos and Koi ponds. Our room had a small kitchen and was well stocked with dishes. Our room overlooked the ocean and we were blessed with the Pacific Ocean's legendary sunsets. The staff at the hotel were very nice and helpful. A young man at the pool named Cris Ayala was especially helpful. He brought us a bucket of icy cold Tecates to our lounge chairs located on the beach. The food was pretty good and comparably priced to the U.S. The hotel had a small deli and grocery store where we bought a bottle of wine and sandwiches. They have 24 hour room service. The double pepperoni pizza was to die for. At 20 bucks it was a bit pricey but it was a good pizza. The hotel was great but Mazatlan could use some cleaning up. It was trashy and has an epidemic of graffiti. Much too hot and humid in July. There is not much to do in Mazatlan. We went to a restaurant at Playa Brujas (witches beach). We had gigantic shrimp that were about seven inches in length. The place is outdoors so be prepared to sweat if you go in the summer. In the evening the bats come into the restaurant that consists of a palapa and they feast on flying insects. All in all, the hotel was great but I would not return to Mazatlan. We will definitely book the PB hotels located in Cabo or in Puerto Vallarta.

This was a trip for my sister's birthday, so it was just a few ladies. The resort is beautiful inside and out. Service was great, from the bell men to the maid. The pool waiters seem to be a little short hand, but always pleasant. This property is in a remote location which gives it pros and cons, depending on what your going for. Our rooms stayed clean, even turndown service in the evening leaving you mini-snickers on the bed. The only thing that wasn't 5 star for me was the spa. The facility itself was very small, no extra amendities (pool, sauna, juices, TV, towels, etc) and the worse part CO-ED. The visual ambiance, my massage and attendants were great, but if your looking for that "full all day relaxation" Spa, PB-EB leaves something to be desired.

Overall, PB-Emerald Bay is wonderful and I would stay again and recommend others. Oh yeah, all the food was delicious too.

After staying at El Cid for a couple of days, we were ready for our weeklong stay at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay beginning June 26. We had scoped out PB-EB the day after we arrived to Mazatlan to determine what we had to look forward to at PB-EB, as we were totally disappointed with the accommodations at El Cid. Well PB-EB did not disappoint us. The front desk accommodated us with early arrival and upgraded our suite. The excellent service continued with the Bell Hop who provided a mini tour of the resort and our suite, which was clean and remained clean all during our stay thanks to the superb maid service. (Please remember to tip your maids too) There are two first-rate pools at PB-ED. We largely stayed in the main pool section and were privileged to be in the area that was serviced by Chris who was PB-EB Employee of the Month. Chris is an exceptional employee who greeted us every morning as thou we were his only customer. In fact, every staff member greeted us with friendly “Buenos Dias” or “Buenas Tardes” depending on the time of day. There is nothing negative we could say about the resort, which was is beautiful and always clean. We arranged our tours and golf outings with the Concierge. The shopping and Stone Island tours are highly recommended and golf at Estrella del Mar is superior to El Cid Golf Course. We preferred to eat at the local restaurants in town so Los Arcos, Casa Country, Zapata’s and Papagayo are highly recommended. Finally and remorsefully, we had to check out of the PB-EB, which was quick and easy, and no surprises on bill. The Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay is highly recommended resort and will be on our future travel plans.

Pros:
Just returned from a wonderful vacation at Pueblo Bonito Resort, Emerald Bay. We are a family of 9, age range from 11 thru 81 yrs. old. We travel often and this was one of the nicest resorts we have stayed in. The grounds and pools are lovely, the suites are spacious with small kitchenettes, including full refrigerator, dishes, etc.

Room service was spectacular and no more costly than eating in the restaurants. Everyone in the hotel was warm and welcoming. We felt very comfortable everywhere in the resort. A bonus was free shuttle service to sister Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan, which was a resort on a nice beach and nearer to central town activities. (Though the Emerald Bay Resort sits on a beach, it is quite far out of town). Very few people were ever on the beach in the water, though some walked along the sand. Probably because of the many rocks in this part of the ocean.

Cons: 1) The very expensive van ride from the airport. For 5 people, we paid $75 U.S. each way. This added $150 additional cost to our vacation. (the other 4 were arriving and leaving at times different from ours)

2) Not enough restaurants. Really only one main one. We ate from the food bar near the pool and from the deli on site. Also took the shuttle from Emerald Bay resort to sister resort and had dinner in town there a couple of nights. The food was more than adequate.

3) All of us enjoyed lounging in the pool area, and we spent hours in the pool, however there was very little else for our "in-betweeners" (20 year olds) to do. I would return; however NOT with these 20 yr olds.
