We are a part of the El Cid family and we have been going to this resort for more than five years. The people are very friendly and very attentive! Since i dont speak very much spanish, it was awesome to have a waiter that spoke wonderful english and spanish! If you ever visit this hotel, be sure to request Carlos Schmidt or Roberto as your waiter during the spectacular shows every night in the Pergola!

My husband and I have stayed at El Cid Castilla 2 times in the past 2 years. The resort has not disappointed. Definitely worth getting the all-inclusive (even though we venture all over the city for great seafood also)
Service is top notch! Housekeeping is super friendly and our room was always stocked.
Food service is awesome. On our beach & pool days we would sit wherever Francisco was because he's by far the best waiter we've had anywhere!! The food on the pool, buffet, and a la carte restaurants was great also. Every year I must have the carne asada nacho plate from concha.
What else.... The resorts pool is very large. 2 pool areas with plenty seating room. They play bingo daily. The beach is nice, lots of lounging area also. The only part I didn't enjoy is all the ppl selling stuff, but I just ignore them. I love mazatlan and will continue to go to el Cid every year!!

The hotel is nice and has a very big pool area, but everything needs to be updated, the place is old fashioned. The hotel has a very nice beach view. Mazatlan is a great place to relax that has great local food.

This place was wonderful! The staff were amazing from check in to checkout, very helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious very nice and clean, all amenities you could want; A/C, in room safe, TV, bed was comfortable, balcony with great views etc.

We went to the pool every day as well as "Happy Hour" and our waiter(s) always knew our order.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to families, singles or couples. We felt very safe in the hotel, on the beach and wandering around some in the hotel zone. Don't be afraid to go to Mazatlan!

Great hotel, great location and great value. The staff could not be better.

Looking forward to our next visit.

We are a bilingual family with a 3 year old daughter. We wanted to visit a place where we could practice our Spanish and not have to worry about the safety and security of our daughter. El Cid was PERFECT. This is where a lot of Mexicans go to stay - so we were surrounded by Spanish speakers, and all announcements were in Spanish. There was very little conversational English, which was great for us. All of the front-line hotel staff however did speak excellent English when my Spanish failed me. It was very, very clean and safe. We used the hotel tour company to pick us up from the airport and they were punctual and drove safely to the hotel. Our daughter LOVED the swimming pools - she was in the water several hours each day. They were not too deep for her (she is 3 feet tall) and she had lots of room to run, swim, and jump. We also used the pools at El Moro. The staff was super helpful and quick to bring you whatever you needed. The food was not fantastic - but it was quite good, well prepared, and very much geared to the Mexican palate. There were always lots of meat dishes to choose from, fresh breads, fresh tortillas, and fresh salsas. We also ate the different "reservation required" restaurants for some variety. That was fun too. The dancers at the nightly buffet were FANTASTIC for our daughter - they let her come on stage at the end and always greeted her with a big smile. As far as noise, it gets noisy on the weekend. We were on the 12th floor and even then could not escape the street noise on Saturday night, and the band playing on the beach at the hotel next door came through loud and clear. Not much can be done about that. The time-share sales people were VERY pushy, and called us every morning, sometimes waking us up. We started unplugging our phone at night. Overall, it was a great value and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: The pool view rooms are cheaper, but they are right by the pool and can get extremely noisy during t...
