“Ginormous shrimp”

The coconut shrimp is to die for. One plate could feed three people. The shrimp were huge and the mango sauce was very good. We ate there twice in one week.

“Average Dinner”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

We visited this restaurant for dinner on our first night in Mazatlan. The food was average except the cayos de acha, scallops, which we had as an appetizer. This dish was delicious and not your typical scallops. They are huge! They were served raw, ceviche style, with lemon juice and onions. This was definitely worth it. For our main dish my wife and I shared a shrimp platter which included shrimp cooked in different ways. The dish was cold and did not have much flavor. I would only return for the cayos.

“Awesome shrimp”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

Food was great and the view for sunset was amazing. Not a fancy place but still worth going. The drinks were great. The chips were in a little per-packaged bag... Didn't seem right, we are so used to fresh chips down there... But the guacamole was good.

“Really great, and not expected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

As we finished our outing with the aqua center (yap - from north to south, it goes El Cid, then aqua center, then this restaurant), we got a promotion to eat lunch at this restaurant. It looked just a little dubious, but hey, it was right there on the beach (note - it is set back a bit from the road if entering from that direction, through a small dirt vacant lot). It specializes in seafood. The beer was cheap (especially by the bucket). But the reason for this review is the food and service. I had better food in Mazatlan (see Topolo review), but this was second best. It was stuffed "this" and wrapped "that", and every dish was way above average with only average prices. The service was way above every other place we went - as attentive as you can find anywhere in Los Angeles! Here I also learned not to ignore Mexican Desert Menus. Apparently Mazatlan has 2 wonderful bakeries that make yummy stuff (I had a small guava pie that was fabulous - but believe me it doesn't stop there). This place deserves this review. Would go back in a heart beat.

“Perfect Beach Front Seafood place, but....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2012

This is an excellent located restaurant in the heart of the Golden Zone (Zona Dorada) Thousands of tourists like locals pass this restaurant daily. The location of the dining room is far from the parking entrance so you will have to walk around 200 feet, if you arrive on taxi or pulmonia. Therefore on entering you will be received by a nice looking staff and hostess that will let you select any table you desire that’s available.
I went with a party of 8 with two babies and setting us up was a breeze. The restaurant has terrific beach view, a "Sea" decor with drawings, sea shells, fish nets, etc, completing the seafood atmosphere. Immediately our waiters brought us a nice cold bucket of Pacifico's and Corona's. I asked for the most recommended starter plate, called "Coctel Alagua" is a combination of octopus, fresh shrimp, fish and other sea goodies all nestled in a molcajete stone bowl. Presentation, location and atmosphere were near perfect, but sadly the food is not, the dishes we all ordered ALL needed a fix up, salt or lemon or hot sauce or spices. The overall flavors are plain, flat and are not exiting to any avg. palate.
Others ordered a Wrapped Fish "Pescado Sarandeado" that is wrapped on aluminum foil with fresh peppers, onions, tomato, etc...Plate arrived with nothing and fish was just bad. Had to return it and change it for something else. Also we ordered lemon cooked raw fish or as many know them by "aguachiles".... completely bad, almost "NADA-CHILES", asked waiter to bring cook and ask why they cooked them that way.. no show.
Our experience was OK due to the food flavor, but I COULD give them another chance if I go back. Prices are not too expensive but would be worth every peso if they were good.
Im from north Baja, home of the new-foodie-paradise and I can easily say that we have even tastier Sinaloa Style Seafood here.
