The norther beaches are less well frequented but that makes them nicer. The waves can be larger but on some days, the wind can push the waves and tide sideways and then it is a bummer. Surfers hang at the northern end which offers larger waves. The beach is long and makes for a nice walk. Traditional banks of amateur musicians (tuba, trumpets, clarinet, drummer and more along with a singer play for the benefit of the Mexican population). One can take a parachute ride towed by a boat here as well as other beaches. There are some restaurants along the beach as well although I never tried any. Parts of the beach have rocky outcroppings....as one walks from the north and gets closer to the big hotels right on the beach.

We took a pulmonia to Cerritos! So much fun! Music playing, wind in our hair! We arrived just as fishermen were coming in for the day. That was fun to see them unload everything and watch how hard they work! It was great for our kids to see how hard they work here! Then we shopped at the stores, enjoyed walking a little and had lunch at Roy's! Amazing! All in all, we had a fun afternoon here!

Truly the most beautiful beach in all of Mazatlan. Surf very rough at times and often riptides. Swimmers beware and don’t swim far out if there are riptide signs posted, use common sense and swim when safe. I live on this beach part of the year and assure you it is lovely, places to snack and eaten beachside masseuses. Lovely condos

Many times walking the beach to Marina El Cid - about 4.5 miles of nothing but sand and waves. Heaven on earth!
