El Cid Marina is a must for us and our friends. We go back 3 times a year and every
time we take someone new they too return. The resort has the ammenties you
expect and then the staff goes beyond to make your stay wonderful. The whole city
is friendly and fun to explore as the downtown rejuvenates itself. El Cid is a top
choice as they exceed your expectations and keep maintenance up.

We had a sister's getaway for one week. The resort was fabulous!! I have been to many places in Mexico and have never encountered such friendly people. Everyone at the resort would do everything possible to make us happy. We had a two bedroom lockoff and it was very spacious. I was there with two of my sisters and we each had our own bathroom. That was so nice to not have to share a bathroom. Our view was the best. We had an end unit which was ocean front. The only problem we had was at the restaurant. The first night we were there we had dinner there. The service was so slow that we almost left. It wasn't very busy, so don't know what their problem was. The waiter that took our order seemed to disappear and nobody else knew what was going on. It took 45 minutes to get our meal. That was just to long considering that we ordered salads. We ate there a couple more times during our stay and everything went just fine. We also went to the Thursday night dinner and show. The food was good, but the show wasn't. We didn't get our moneys worth for that night. There were so many kids running around yelling. There was no parental supervisiion. When we complained to the waiter, he smiled and ignored the problem. We were very dissapointed. But, other than that we loved the resort and wish we were still there. We hope to be back in Mazatlan soon.

The hotel staff members were so very friendly and helpful. We especially want to thank Rogelio at the reception desk for taking such good care of us. We appreciated the shuttle service between the El Cid Hotels thus enabling us to enjoy the tennis club as well as the other hotels. The hotel was so very well maintained and the condo was beautiful. We enjoyed all the amenities of the hotel and enjoyed the good food. We were very pleased with this vacation and are thinking about returning there next year.

I have traveled to Mexico seven times over the past 10 years to include Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Manzanillo, and Playa del Carmen but none of these destinations offered the level of service, comfort, and vibrant culture provided by El Cid and the city of Mazatlan.

The staff placed me in a 12th floor suite, the ocean view with Deer and Bird islands in the forefront presented several memorable sunsets. Room and maid service were exceptional, maids frequently returned in the evening with fresh towels, nice touch. In spite of my tracking sand from the beach, not a grain of shoreline remained after they policed the room. As for the extra towels . . . yes, one managed to find its way home with me.

El Cid dinning was effortless. The food selection spanned the globe and everything was prepared to order. Their breakfast buffet is necessary after a night on the town moreover being from the Northwest I appreciated the quality of the coffee. Dinning service was five stars, and considering I do not speak Spanish, I was relieved the staff is fluent in English. I enjoyed a succulent cheeseburger at El Cid’s poolside paradise with a margarita (on the rocks). It may not be fair to assess the poolside treats considering the bar tenders do not believe in mixing weak drinks; it is probable my judgment was impaired.

Unlike Cancun, Mazatlan is a window to “real” Mexican life. I took several trips to the theater district and always felt safe with locals. A waiter at a downtown restaurant told me of Matanchén Bay where I enjoyed seaside fare and watching a parade of people on the beach. People watching is great sport on the Malecón, the best kept secret in all of Mexico.

I cannot wait to return to Mazatlan, I will stay at El Cid.

First time in Mazatlan. Not really much to do there but the resorts were awesome. We did a Fiesta, a City Tour and a tour to Concordia and Capala.
There are free shuttles to the other El Cids. (There are 4 El Cids in Mazatlan) Mexico's largest pool was at two of the other ones. We took our teenage children there and spent two days at the other pool. At the Marina, take the free water taxi across to a beach. Not too many peddlers bugging you at that one. If they did bug you too much, the hotel security would run them off. The staff were wonderful. Our maid was just the sweetest person. We only had her clean every other day. The days she didn't, she would see us and ask if we were sure we were okay with towels and what not. Our wait staff at the smaller pool's cafe were great. They went above and beyond. At the restaurant near the lobby, they were a bit snobby. Three bars, each with different happy hour times. So basically, bar hop at the resort and happy hour is from 3 to 8! Lots of cheep drinking!

After 9 days we departed the El Cid Marina feeling like we left some of our family behind. From the moment we arrived until we left there was nothing that the staff would not do to make our stay enjoyable. It started with Andres the bellman with his warm smile and friendliness and continued to Javier in the restaurant at night to Fidel and Ramon at the pool bars. These names stand out but there was not one person that we had any interaction with that was not friendly or that was not happy to try and make our stay enjoyable. This is evident that the staff takes pride in doing their job to the best of their ability and then some. We had the pleasure of meeting the hotels GM Senor Gomez on a few occasions and relayed to him how wonderful Fidel,Andres, Ramon and Javier were along with the rest of his staff. I would also say that Rogelio at the front desk is an asset to their customer service.
