The tour was a little boring and the exhibits were depressing. The best part was the beach. We would have liked to have had more time there. Next time we will get there on our own. We even found some sand dollars on the beach.

If you're for a long stay in Mazatlán, then I would say go and visit, otherwise you have a lot to see in Mazatlán itself, or just stay at the beach of your hotel. Isla de la Piedra is nice, but too commercial. There are a lot of little restaurants "palapas" which offer you chairs and shade and food of course, some better than others. If you like to walk and I mean walk, then it's beautiful, because then you can have the beach for yourself. But keep in mind there's no shade and in the summer, the heat can climb over 40°C. By the way, the sand, wow, yes the sand on Isla de la Piedra, is white.

Take the water taxi over to this beach for a nice relaxing day away from most crowds. We recommend Lety's for a meal and a lounger.

The water was calm and the view lovely. It was easy to get there and back. I love the palm groves.

Stone Island is ok Its a place for a family to spend an afternoon. With to activities of your choice included in the higher priced tickets. They offer ATV's, horse back riding, banana boats. The ferry ride to the Island is one of the high points. As there is a little entertainment. Taking you to view the Island cliffs and caves. The is also a small rockthe ferry takes you up close. Wild seals inhabit the rock, so you get a really up close view. One problem is the seals are migratory. In the summer months there maybe only a few or none. In the winter months however, there maybe a dozen or more !
