“Charming house, safe area, close to everything!”

Im so happy I chose to stay at Casa Bonita this time around in Mazatlan. It's conveniently located a block from the beach with a ton of surrounding restaurants to chose from. Indian food, Mexican food, comfort food, breakfast cafes.. the options are endless!

The house is huge with a ton of clean rooms, comfy beds and most importantly, a gorgeous pool to relax by. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for the whole family and an extra fridge in case you reallllly want to stock up in cerveza! :)

Lucky for us, the homeowner Chris was on the premises during our stay and gave us a ton of recommendations on where (and where not) to go.

I can't wait to come back!

“Vacation with my girlfiends”
Reviewed February 23, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

This was my second stay. Love the updates. There were a few glinges, but Chris handled when he could. Pool was cooler the first few days, it is solar heated might have more sun if trees were pruned, to give more sunlight.

We had a very nice stay, is noisy due to being on a bus line but you get used to it.

There were nine of us plenty of room. In fact several thought they might book for there families.

I would book again!

“Casa Bonita is pretty awesome”
Reviewed January 10, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

This was our second stay at Casa Bonita and we will be coming back. We had 6 people and booked the whole place. The kitchen is well equipped with 2 fridges, gas stove, microwave, etc to make your own food. Otherwise there are a lot of great restaurants within a few short blocks. And you're a block from the beach. We love staying in the Historical district and the private pool and courtyard makes lounge days even better. We love the big open living room for group time and the bedrooms are quiet and air conditioned. Day trips to the Golden Zone or Stone Island are easy and the hike for El Faro is close by. Plus the rates are awesome and Chris is great to deal with.

“OUTSTANDING!”

Where to do we begin with our rating of Casa Bonita? This was without a doubt the best family vacation we have ever had. Casa Bonita was home for us for 4 ½ weeks from mid March to mid April 2015 and it opened its doors for our “come and stay and then go” visits for many of our family members and friends. Casa Bonita is so comfortable with all the bedrooms complete with full bathrooms in each, 3 level pool (great for little ones) & courtyard, TV area if you just want to relax a bit and a great kitchen with 2 fridges….one for food and one for beverages! Casa Bonita is well gated and we always felt very safe with the open air environment. The courtyard & pool is also gated to ensure the safety of everyone. The windows all have wrought iron grates to provide a very Mexican atmosphere as well as completely secure. Our days mostly consisted of great breakfasts lounging by the pool, and then an easy walk over to the water taxi for our day at Stone Island. What a great place to spend the days, great sand for the kids, shallow beach for the kids and yet fun waves to play in for big and small. We would settle in at a great beach restaurant called El Velero where the staff were outstanding, making sure we had lounge beds, chairs, tables, umbrellas and great food and drink. Upon our return home, it was always fun to hit the pool and have some relax time before barbequing a great dinner, or a dinner out to one of the many restaurants in the area, especially at the Plaza Machado. A walk on the Malecon with an ice cream and watch the sunset made the day complete. Back to Casa Bonita for some more relax time, grandkids to bed, sit out on the front patio and do some people watching and settling in at the dining table for some card games. Chris was always helpful and attentive to our needs or providing information for touring the area. The Market was a nice walk away and the bus was right at the corner to catch it to go to Walmart or the Mega Store. They have Pulmonias (glorified Golf Cart) travelling in the area all over, that you can wave down and quickly catch a ride to where ever you might want to go. They fit 3 adults comfortably, although you can fit 4….and even 5 if need be! Lots of times we caught the bus to Walmart/Mega for groceries, and then there is always Pulmonias on hand for a quick ride back. This was our first time to Casa Bonita…..but we are sure it won’t be our last. Thanks for such a great vacation!! Simply the Best!

“The perfect home to enjoy the real Mexican city of Mazatlan!”
Reviewed April 28, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This was our third stay at Casa Bonita and once again we enjoyed a fabulous Mazatlan vacation from the amazing Casa Bonita in the Centro Viejo district one block from Olas Altas. The home is amazing for families or groups of friends as everyone can have their own air conditioned bedroom en suite, but also share an indoor/outdoor main salon and kitchen and lovely, private backyard pool with both ample sun and shade. Chris, the owner, meets your group at the house and explains everything you need to know and is available when you need him. From Casa Bonita you can easily walk to both the waterfront (one block) and the lovely Plaza Machado (4 blocks) where you will find numerous excellent restaurants, often live music, and the gracious, kicked-back atmosphere of local Mazatlan. It's a nice walk or a 5 minute taxi ride to the ferry for Isla de la Piedra where you can spend the day on a lovely beach out of the way of highways and vehicle traffic and eat shrimp to your heart's content. All other Mazatlan attractions are easily accessible, most by walking and certainly easily by local taxi---called "Pulmonias"----bascially golf carts on steroids! When you come home you will be able to relax on the patio by the pool or go for a swim in your private courtyard. It doesn't get much better than this!
