A highpoint of our Mazatlan annual trip, IS Lety's on Stone Island. Food is very good and the setting, well you have to see it, 20 miles of unspoiled pristine beach, back by a CoCo Nut Grove. If you eat there go way up into the back, up the stairs and get a table there, even if you are on the beach. Staying at any hotel in Mazatlan get a Pulmonia and instruct the driver to take you to the water taxi at the "Faro" (Lighthouse) leave your hotel about 10:00 am. pack your beach stuff. Get on the water taxi about US $2.00/person round trip and make the about 1 mile trek across the harbor. Then at the top of the plank on Stone Island get a waiting cab, (Junk Truck) and tell them to take you to Lety's about US $2-3.00.
Stake out your beach chairs and unbrella and enjoy the day order a drink, swim relax. When it's time for lunch head up into the place as above for the "Real" experiance. oH and I just got your party of 4 to Stone Island and back for US $20.00 TOTAL !!! AND you had way more fun getting there than the US $50.00/person tour trip they tried to sell you on the beach!
