Description: Rico's Cafe opened in 2000 as Mazatlan´s only cafe. Our simple desire was to inspire customers by offering an inviting place to enjoy Mexico's best coffees prepared by our expert baristas. Today we enjoy a loyal following of locals as well as tourists who seek out our homemade breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and specialty crepes. We also offer freshly-baked breads and pastries, frappes and imported teas, in addition to our coffees which we roast on the premises. Rico's terraces are a great place for groups to gather, our booths are ideal for private conversations and our long tables in front of the main bar are great for people watching and meeting others. Free high-speed Internet, music and personalized service make this a second home for many customers. You will leave inspired, and say "Que rico!"

Just looking for a decent cup of coffee at around 2pm and we found this little coffee shop in el CID resort . Firstly we waited by the till to order where the barista decided if she ignored us long enough we'd go away. We didn't. so we ordered a cup of coffee with milk, a cinnamon latte, and a muffin. the coffee we ordered didn't have any milk in it but it did have a lot of grinds, and at the bottom of the latte a sludgy cinnamon mess. we were rudely asked to leave because they were closing?! At 2pm when the sign clearly read " open 6am to 7pm" no arguments there! We left and never are we going back! But the muffin was excellent.

Slow service, but not glacial. The food is just OK (my sandwich was toasted into oblivion) and the coffee is strong (a good thing in my opinion). I felt that the music, while pleasant at normal volume, was too loud and made it difficult to have a conversation.

Every year, we start our Mazatlan vacation by buying Rico's beans, so we can make good coffee at our apartment each morning. Then, every afternoon, we stop in for our espresso fix! They remember us and our order, which means a lot. This year they were starting to offer affogato (ice cream with espresso poured over). If you've never tried it, you owe it to yourself to give it a try! They were using high quality local organic ice cream, and it was heavenly.

We had a coffeepot in our room but liked Rico's so much we just went there every day...great breakfast sandwiches & fresh pastries etc. You can get it to go or sit at the tables.

We patronize the Rico's at the traffic circle near the Marina. It's our favourite place for breakfast & has the best coffee in Maz (not burned or bitter). We also take home their coffee for everyday use & take out the luscious desserts. The staff are friendly & are all working on their English (better than my Spanish). It's always consistently delicious & has the added bonus of the entertainment of watching the traffic in the circle..
