we were told by 2 different people to walk 2 miles down the beach from our hotel and try this place....we began with a pacifico and a margarita which quenched our thirst...then we had the pescado ceviche with tortillas and salsa...so tasty...next we had the ensalada verde with avacado and lobster sauteed with garlic in the shell...very affordable and delicious....the server was very friendly and efficient....had to use the bathroom and gave the attendant a nice tip, as she offered shampoo for washing....great view of the surfers and lifeguard....it was our last full day, and lunch was terrific...

We went to Mr. Lionso's twice in two weeks we liked it so much - including our last night. It is a large open air restaurant with fabulous of the long sandy beach (hotels - lights at night nice), surfers, and dolphins out in the water one time. We went in time for happy hour (5-6 pm) and got monster mango margaritas rimmed with lime and red spice for $60 pesos for two. Wow. One entree was 6-7 large to-die-for large grilled shrimp stuffed with swordfish, wrapped in bacon. Another favorite was Diavolo grilled shrimp smothered in a spicy red garlic sauce. The chicken and shrimp molcajete was one of the best (as they claim) bubbling with spicy red sauce, cheese, avocado chunks, and cactus. Even the simple breaded or grilled fish with garlic butter was perfect. All meals (except molcahete) came with a small portion of rice and steamed veggies plus housemade dinner rolls. There is always some kind of music and vendors await for you to approach them. One time we bought fabulous coconut mounds and nut brittle. The bathroom facilities are very clean and even has an attendant. On weekends, this tends to be a busy restaurant and reservation could be recommended, but don't let it hold you back from just going there. Because it is located out on Playa Bruja, you can't just walk there unless you are staying nearby like in Riu. We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay and took a taxi for $50 pesos.

We walked in one day and was shocked at how amazing it seemed - this was no beach hut. We vowed to go back one day even though we were at the RIU all inclusive.
The specialty was marlin and shrimp wrapped in bacon which was amazing.
The Tortilla soup was awesome - and super filling!
