We originally only booked for 3 nights and we had to book a 4th because it's just so relaxing here and staff make you feel welcomed and are very nice and friendly. The owner Michel talked to us a few times and he was very helpful on what places to eat and visit. The beach we went to was about 10min away in taxi and the hotel has a great view and an awesome pool!!! It was perfect for our family vacation. Definitely will be staying here again when we come back to manzanillo.

This property is an exceptionally nice place to relax. The other guests were nice folks from Canada. The general aesthetics are compelling and the views are indeed exceptional. We were here just overnight, so couldn't take much advantage of the kitchenette in the pretty room -- there is no restaurant -- but enjoyed a couple decent restaurants that were short cab rides, as is a nice small beach down the big hill. Michel went out of his way to connect us with a good doctor for a minor emergency. He also was accommodating about a late checkout and in other ways. We definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Ask about views.

We just returned home from a week here. One night in 211 and six in 210, a larger unit with kitchen and king bed in a separate bedroom. While not beachfront, the hilltop location provided great views of both Santiago beach and Manzanillo beach. The pool area was excellent and noted 2 charcoal grills and 1 gas grill. There was a nice area for watching sunsets overlooking Santiago bay. Patricia and Michael were excellent hosts.

The hosts, Patricia and Michel, run a beautiful property which is kept in excellent condition. The gardens exotic and beautiful, just the thing you would hope for at a tropical get away. Breathtaking views approach you from every angle. The pool is large and inviting. And the condition of the rooms is immaculate.

Our only concern is one which is completely out of the control of the hosts: barking dogs! We had the misfortune to be "serenaded" by a trio of howlers throughout the night. It was probably a fluke, however, and would not deter us from staying again.

We arrived in Manzanillo with a week-long reservation at a larger, but significantly inferior resort. After one night there, we realized that we needed to find something else in order to be able to enjoy our vacation. We spent Saturday checking out a few options based on the TA ratings and decided that Hotel Villas Los Angeles was the right place for us. It was the best choice we could have made.

When we first showed up and encountered Kiti (sp?) working at the front desk, we found that she didn't speak english. Despite this, she was very willing to try and communicate and was quite friendly when she showed us some available rooms. We quickly settled on a wonderful two-bedroom suite that overlooked the pool. The room had everything we needed: good beds, a fully functional kitchen, quiet AC, cable TV, etc. Of course, the beautiful view, wonderful pool and short walk to Playa Audencia, were huge perks as well. More importantly, everything was exceptionally clean, giving us yet another sign that the folks here care deeply and take pride in the resort. The room prices were also very reasonable.

The following morning we had the pleasure of meeting Patricia and Michel, the owners. The were, again, very kind and welcoming. Both were able to teach us a lot about Manzanillo and steered us in the right direction for activities, restaurants and more. The strongest point of Hotel Villas Los Angeles is the staff. From the owners, to the front desk staff, to the housekeepers and maintenance, everyone was amazingly kind and welcoming. This wasn't the fake nice that you get at some big resorts. Everyone was willing to share themselves with us. For example, we really enjoyed bonding with Sergio, the overnight guy. We discussed our mutual interest in Camila, a puppy Michel had literally rescued and the temporary Hotel mascot, and learned all about Sergio's life and family. Shortly after we arrived, we really felt like we were being welcomed like close friends and family, not just like guests at a hotel.

We were very sad to leave our new friends behind and return to work, but we know they'll still be there when we go back. And we will. Hopefully soon!

Michel and Patricia are wonderful hosts. They were so helpful, not only for what they did at the hotel, but for escorting us around for services.
It will become our "home" in Manzanillo.
You will not be disappointed!

The Lakeside Little Theatre, the oldest English-speaking theatre in Mexico, just held its annual retreat at Hotel Villas Los Angeles. We were a total of 17 people. We were completely delighted with the accommodations and it's hard to say enough about how thoroughly hospitable and helpful Michel and Patricia were in making our stay enjoyable. During our stay they helped us with restaurant choices, car issues, and in one case, medical needs. The location of the hotel, the views and the pool area, are quite spectacular, especially considering the off-season rates we were offered. It's true that the newer rooms are, generally, more appealing than the older ones, although we had people in both and all were clean and quite comfortable. We already are talking about a return visit next year!

Room Tip: My first choice, depending on the size of your party, would be for one of the newer rooms (the 200...
