Creativity , flavor, & consistency of the superb selections, coupled with Chef Charley's enthusiasm for what he does and his personable interaction with the guests at this lovely Bistro , lured us back within the week to try other items on the menu. Adding to the charm of the Bistro is the sweet personality of the hostess, who happens to be the chef's sister. Katie and Charley just happen to be from Colorado.... MY current home state!
Run, don't walk, down to the marina in Manzanillo, and treat yourselves to great service and a very memorable meal!

Party of three, for our main dishes we had pork, chicken and octopus! Charlie is a great chef and all his food tastes wonderful and presented with flair. Our beet salads were spectacular as was the pork belly appetizer. No room for dessert this time. Look forward to returning soon.

first, the Staff, Enrico, Matradee, and his staff were very attentive, but not in your face, the staff spoke very good english, and were very friendly, and smiling. The food, was impecble, Fresh, Hot, served very quickly. The Braised Beets, with Goat cheese, wow..the Calamari is fresh, NOT battered and deep fried, so very different, but with the olive tapenade, perfect. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Fillet Mignon, he ordered it both times we went, on the other hand, I had the dorado, with the carmelized onions, perfect. But if your not a big desert fan, Have a Sexy Coffee...yummmmm. Now for the view, the boats in the Marina, view of the bay, Las Hadas, our place, Dolphin cove Inn, aka Playa Manzanillo. The sounds of the birds, and lapping of the water, what more could you want...Oh by the way, went there twice in 1 week..

Our party arrived just as the sun was setting over the yachts in the marina. Las Hadas marched up the hill on our left and the Barcelo Karmina Palace hotel was reflected in multi-colors across the water to the right. A perfect setting for a dazzling evening or a romatic tryst.
The waiters were attired in sparkling "Mexican white" uniforms and spoke perfect English, assisting us in good humour when we attempted to order in broken Spanish. The drinks were made with premium ingredients and the wine list, while not extensive, was easily pared with the dinner menu. The wine celler is located on the right just inside the restaurant bar. The appetizer of beets and goat cheese was deemed the best. Everyone had something different for dinner with lots of taste testing from each other. The dorado with carmelized onions and bacon bits was a real treat. We all ordered something special for dessert and everything was so good I'm just getting four desserts and a salad when we visit next.
Our host, Chef Charlie Pankey was most attentive, welcoming and friendly, taking the time to explain just how the dishes on the menu were created and prepared with only fresh ingredients and "caught that day" seafood. It can attest that it was the best seafood I've eaten so far in Mexico judging from our visits over the past 30 years.
We heartily recommended the Bistro Marina to friends after this fantastic, affortable, most enjoyble evening. Bravo! Bistro Marina, we'll be back.

We were told about this wonderful restaurant by Diego the night before. He and his wife Kate are the owners. The Bistro is located at the Marina in Las Hadas and dining is Al fresco. The view of the marina, yachts, and charter boats is fantastic and the bay is in the distance. Chef Charlie suggested the huachinango (snapper) and it was outstanding. The other three members of our party had the pork loin served on a bed of yam puree and embellished with a mustard seed and apple sauce. I was able pry away a bite from them and this dish was spectacular. Dinner and drinks for four without tip came to $117.00 US. I regret that we did not have the appetizers or salad. Go ---you won't be dissapointed. 6:00 p.m. was the perfect reservation time to be in the shade.
