My friend and I travelled to Manzanillo from December 1-8. On the 7th, we decided to hit the market in Santiago and then spend some time at Miramar Beach. The west coast of Mexico is beautiful but the beaches aren't very swimmable because of the undertow and waves. Miramar is different - the sand is wonderful and we didn't see a rock in the water at all. You have to walk out about 100 yards before you encounter waves that will reach your waist. The beach stretches a long way and is a great place to interact with locals. There are some shops and b bars nearby and some vendors across the street. If you are heading to this beach from Manzanillo, just hop on the bus, pay your 7 pesos and you are there is next to no time.
