As a vistor to villa blanca (2 adults + 2 children under 10). This is a nice hotel, all the pros and cons listed from previous visitors are pretty accurate, in my opinion.

cons for my family (but were not deal breakers for our enjoyment of this trip):

- breakfast not included for the children
- runny eggs
- noisy air conditioning
- very hard beds
- limited English speaking staff
- for our needs as a young family a kitchennette or at least a fridge would have been ideal for our 1 week stay

Pros:

- This hotel is very clean and has a cozy feel to it
- The kids and I loved the pool
- The staff was always very friendly and aimed to please
- Their Margaritas were the best! (and I ordered one everywhere I visited in the area :)
- Great access to the super market (2 minute walk around the corner) with many food choices (think mini walmart)
- El Pastor (taco stand in the evenings only) on the same street as Super Che (maybe 5 minute walk past it) offer very good tacos... The 4 of us ate and drank for a little under 20CA$.
- Good hamburgers at the cantina right beside the hotel (evenings only)
- the beaches... take your pick! Personnally I liked the Chahue beach because it was large and mostly unpopulated with people, but the waves were too strong to allow the boys to go in... they loved running away from the lapping tide though and I enjoyed watching them. We walked to Santa cruz beach which is much smaller but good for swimming, and Entrega beach was good for swimming/snorkelling (5$CA taxi ride). We rented snorkel gear for 5$CA/person for the day.
-2 towns in short walking distance to choose from to explore.

Room Tip: The loft style rooms are more spacious for a family

This is our first time in Huatulco and our first time at VillaBlanca.
Our room was cleaned spotless everyday and the cleaning staff made it fun coming into our room with swans and flowers made out of towels. The breakfasts were excellent and I loved the herbal tea.
Staying at the VillaBlanca you are not far from Santa Cruz or Le Cruicetia. We walked everywhere even though the cabs rides are cheap (25 pesos) for most places. We have eaten supper in the restaurant twice and our food was good.
There is a supermarket about a block away where you can buy alcohol, food and some clothing (like our Superstore in Saskatchewan).
We would definitely come back here again and stay at the VillaBlanca again.

The staff at this small hotel are what makes it special. The level of service given for the price paid is exceptional--people really work hard here and so many go out of their way to help, without expecting a tip every time. The hotel is kept very clean, and the room was kept spotless. The maids do a very thorough job.

The pool area is also well-maintained, and is a great place to hang out and meet other guests, which many people do, if only to swap info about beaches, stores, restaurants etc. We met lots of nice people in our week's stay. The hotel has a laid-back vibe, and attracts lots of repeat business.

The Super Che carries beer, wine, liquor and grocery items (not much for clothing) plus more--sort of a small scale Walmart. It's about a block away--5 minute walk.

Short cab ride or 15 min walk to La Crucecita, closer to Santa Cruz.

Breakfasts were adequate--lots of fresh fruit and juice, french toast, waffles, pancakes, cereals, breakfast tortillas, and several local breakfast buffet items. Also can order off the menu.

Other restaurant items for lunch or supper are mostly local food, which we didn't generally care for. The guacamole and burgers are OK. Otherwise, we and most other guests ate in town (don't really understand the rave food reviews for the restaurant).

We'd stay here again, no problem. Lots of restaurants a cab ride or walk away, so restaurant really isn't a big issue.

We have stayed at Villa Blanca 3 times in the last 3 years and although we like the location and the hotel, as I as a traveller appreciate true reviews, I will give just that.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are a bit hard unfortunately but not uncomfortable enough to avoid another stay for us. The pool is good as well, but not big especially when there are children at play. I am not a bird lover and there are a lot of birds that swoop the pool during the day. But again. . .not enough of a bother to deter our return to the hotel.

Breakfasts are average. The service is decent. Only complaint is that when trying to contact hotel prior to visit I was not able to get responses by email and on the phone they did not try to get an English speaking representative to talk to as I know there is usually someone on staff that does. Very frustrating.

Decent hotel.

We just got back from a one weeks stay at Villa Blanca. We loved it! It is perfectly situated in the middle of everything - 10 minutes by foot to either Santa Cruz or La Crucecita or a very quick & cheap cab ride away. We enjoyed the hotel itself and for those bemoaning the fact that they didn't get a pool side room, the downside of a pool side room was its space (they are quite small in contrast to the much larger third floor rooms). The hotel staff are fantastic and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. It is a very social place where meeting people and hearing about their daily excursions and recommendations for outings is commonplace. It seems to attract middle age couples more than anything and probably wouldn't appeal to families with teenagers. We much preferred VB to going to an All Inclusive. Would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it highly.
