I have had two stays here at Las Brisas and really liked each stay. The first time I had an incredible room with king bed, couch, table two leather chairs and a superb view of the bay. The second time, it was two queen beds and no table but still great. Cleanliness and prompt attention from the maid and maintenance service excellent.
The area is huge with a very long drive to reception. A very large area, cool, quiet and efficient staff. Once checked in you stand in a very short line under your "compound" sign. Mine was Estrellas and the maxi golf cart takes you to your building. For return, just pick up the phone at the drop off area and they come quickly.
Ah, those stairs. I was quiet high and counted 167 stairs to get to the dining room. Fine for me but if you are not fit, then this could be a chore. There are landings where you can stop and enjoy the view, animals, flora and then continue on your way. However after dinner and a couple of glasses or wine, it felt like 1670 stairs! Not really.
The food here is very good. I enjoyed the buffets and the a la carte rooms. The beach snack area great for breakfast and a light lunch. Service is 4+
Numerous tennis courts, pools for kids and separate area for adults only. Massage on the beach, sports, you name, you have it. Pathways around the shore line great for an early morning run or walk, well lit at night.
As Las Brisas is on a bay on the left side, there are no huge waves, or even smaller ones as it is sheltered from the straight line of the ocean. Thus, the lounge chairs, umbrellas, and shore are accessible at all times.
The beach bars, main open bar are very good, Just do not ask for a glass of California Chablis. White is white and red is red. The Mexican beers are so good. The tequila drinks very good.
There is nightly entertainment and folk art sales along and in the main building lower area.
It is a short cab ride to the little town of La Crucecita where you can walk around uninterrupted. Great ice creams, road side bars, stores from street vendors to boutiques. I went to two restaurants and had surprisingly terrific meals.
There is a main plaza with a church at the main side. Worth a visit as it is beautifully painted and adorned.
The real estate market is expanding, so there are many billboards for condos, etc.
Back to Las Brisas. There are no peddlers on the beach and off to the side of the property there is a private adult beach. Again, call for a cart if you need it.
Would I come again? Well, I already have and liked it so much. The weather was perfect on both trips and even the outdoor dining at dinner time was so pleasant.
