We stayed here at the start of Jan for 5 days and I really wish that we had at least 2 more. I was initially worried that Huatulco would be too purpose built for my liking which is why Agua Azul was the perfect find. Charming, full of character & personal touches- it really is as beautiful as the photos. There are so many beaches to see on this coastline but one of my favourite things was to lie in the hammock and enjoy the view, the sounds and birds & butterflies fly past. .
We stayed in the Delfin room which had a great view over the sea and the pool below. The room had an insect screen that allowed us to see outside without being besieged by pests, and we even awoke to wonderful orange sunrises.

In terms of location it is a 10 min walk through a wooded area to a secluded beach.Taxis to the main centre are inexpensive at 50 pesos & it is possible to order food to be delivered. There is a kitchen area too which is handy as at times we didn't want to leave the comfort of the villa. Brooke & Rick are well travelled and highly knowledgable. Ask Brooke about the massage therapist that can give you a massage on your terraza - it is highly recommended.

Room Tip: All have a similar style and great views but we stayed in the Delfin room and it was pefect.

I spend 6 days days in this magnificent villa. The view is amazing. I very much enjoyed the pool and garden and the knowledgeable and hospitable hosts. The nearby white, sandy beach is wonderful. Many cheap taxi's, with friendly drivers, are available to transport the guests to and from the nearby small village of Crucecita.

This place was beautiful! It was off the beaten path and not directly on the beach but was amazing! We had our own private little villa overlooking the ocean and sunset. Very exotic birds would perch in the trees just down from our villa. The owners at the time where Canadian, very welcoming and always included very organic breakfasts with fruits and breads and juices. They were very helpful with getting us into town and also telling us about the sights to see in the area.

Room Tip: Some are very secluded and others you may be seen by a neighbor. They have a hammock on the porch ov...

For all those of us who prefer individually planned trips to all-inclusive package deals, small places with genuine character to big, fancy but fenced-in resorts, yet who all the same appreciate some comfort, this is one of the best imaginable places to stay in order to explore the beautiful Oaxacan coast. The hosts are absolutely lovable, never intrusive but always there to give advice and tell a story, if one wishes to listen. They can provide you with inside knowledge of the area and the local customs. Throughout you feel in good hands, and it is thanks to their private contacts that you can sign up for individual first-rate tours to a nearby eco-park, to give one example. Very close by, there are gorgeous empty beaches to explore where you can stay all day without meeting another soul. It is a B&B, so one must go out for meals, if one doesn’t get one’s own supplies to store them in the available fridge. The Huatulco bay area is spread out, so this means taking taxis (for a very low fare, at least by European and US standards). But one very soon and very easily gets accustomed to this, and after a day on the beach and a dip in the pool to cool off, who would not want to get going and explore the local restaurant scene? Highly recommended!

Genuinely hospitable Canadian hosts, Rick and Brooke, run a beautifully situated and landscaped B&B. Its best trait is the proximity to a nearby hidden beach: wonderfully desolate, riptide-free and gorgeous. While we generally preferred the feeling of Mazunte to Huatulco, we would certainly recommend that you stay at this B&B, if planning stay in the area.

Agua Azul La Villa is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the coast in Huatulco. The spacious rooms overlook a small cove. Each room is relatively private and includes a patio and hammock. I enjoyed waking up to the sound of the waves hitting the beach.

Rick and Brooke were fabulous hosts. Breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed visiting with them. They were extremely knowledgeable about the small city. They had some great suggestions for restaurants and helped me get the most out of my short trip.
