This is the kind of place that you brag is "The Real Mexico" - plastic chairs, a bar around the edge filled with locals eating their dinners, homemade soups with chunks of sliced veggies and tortillas and other specialties with various salsas. We loved the chili, onion and pineapple salsa that we got with our food and the service was jovial and attentive. We were offered free tequila as well - you can tell the owner wants to keep his high rating on trip advisor. We enjoyed the place but found the food to be better elsewhere. In terms of value for money, though, this place can't be beat.

if you don't like texmex but you want to get the real taste of mexican cuisine and this at a very reasonable price this is the place to go. It's hard to beat. It's a very simple place so you don't go for the decor.. just for the authentic mexican food...

The tacos are certainly very good, and the selection of salsas too, but I don't see how this restaurant was able to move Terra Cotta out of first place. Are taquerias rare in Huatulco? In Puerto Escondido there are several taquerias just as good as Los Gallos, and one street vendor, Pepe on 4a Norte between 2a and 3a Poniente, whose tacos are delicious. That said, we enjoyed our meal here, and the sopes are good too.

As a foodie my friend and I love trying different local foods in different countries. After all the great reviews on TripAdvisor we had to try the restaurant. Ended up eating here 3 days of our one week all inclusive trip to Huatulco. The service was great. The food was amazing for a very reasonable price. The two of us ordered way too much food each time. Everything is so fresh and delicious. I will forever dream of the Pozole soup and tacos with all there amazing salsas. A must try.

Was looking forward to trying out some new restaurants this time and wondered how we missed the number one spot on the list. We were very excited as eating in the small local places usually give us the best food of our trip. We sat at stools on the counter, there are several tables inside. I have to say that the service was great. Three people waiting on us at once, about 6 different salsas/condiments before the mea which were all very good, ranging from very spicy to the sweet heat of the jalapeno and pineapple salsa. Ordered an appetizer of melted Oaxacan cheese with mushrooms which was very good, a bowl of the chicken soup, a cheese quesadilla and tlayuda. Cold cervezas all around. Complimentary tequila shots at the end of meal served with orange wedges added made it go down very smooth and gave it a different taste. Total cost about 300 pesos including tip. Again, service was great but I thought the food was average. Would I go back? Probably because these kind of local places are where I like to eat on vacation.
