Just returned from a week at Quinta Real. Rooms very well decorated and spacious. Views just incredible and the entire property was QUIET. Yes, with all inclusives farther down the beach - this resort was quiet. The internet was an extra charge (when will all resorts stop that nuisance charge) and was inconsistent - it worked well somedays and was not on others. Also, the food is expensive and we would say just average in quality. Nice presentation but expensive and not up to the level of the resort. The concierge and bell staff were energetic and had a genuine "can do" attitude. And the Sky Bar was unique and made for a perfect ending to each evening.

My husband and I went to a wedding at Huatulco this December and stayed at the "Suite Presidencial" (Presidential Suite) of this Hotel. I have no words to describe it, it was THE BEST... From the moment we entered the hotel, we were received with some coconut ice cream which was water mouth delicious. The “Suite Presidencial” is way far from what we expected, as we’ve stayed before at Suite Presidencial of Quinta Real in Aguascalientes, Mexico, however there’s no point of comparison between these two. We were taken to our suite, and the moment the doors opened we got this sky ocean infinite view which made us felt restful and peaceful right away. Then we walked down the stairs to discover our “patio” which had a dining and living room with ocean view. Steps in front, we had OUR POOL which is one of those that are sky infinity view surrounded of the all the flora and fauna of Huatulco and the best is that it was almost the size of the hotel’s pool. Sunsets were great to see from our “patio”. Our room was spacious enough, we had a big super comfortable bed, a coffee table, and some couches. The closet was big enough for our stay. The only thing about the room is that the bathroom sometimes had these little black ants but of course that wasn’t much of a problem as the hotel was considerate enough to leave us some repellent at the bathroom. There is a car to take down to the beach or if you’d like you could take the five minute walk down the beach. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the hotel is well located, however there are not a lot of options when it comes to eating at the hotel. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel, specifically the “SUITE PRESIDENCIAL” it was worth every penny!!!

Room Tip: You should definitely try booking "Suite Presidencial" and make sure you spray the repelle...

We had looked forward to our visit here but were downcast upon arrival. The coconut ice cream upon arrival was great and our room was ready despite our early arrival at noon. However the entire property needs a massive renovation. We had a roof leak in our bathroom, a big leak through the light fixture in the beach bathroom, rotted boards on the walkways, and the service was lackluster at best and nearly surly at worst.
The beach and views are stupendous but if this property represents the best, I strongly advise renting a villa.

Huatulco is a resort town planned by the Mexican government. Unlike Cancun, it never really took off which, in my opinion, is a blessing. You have all the infrastructure but still have a small town feel. There are 9 bays and 36 beaches. The better hotels are concentrated on Tangalunda Bay and of the 4 or 5 there, Quinta Real has the prime location. It's a small boutique type hotel with all the amenities. The Quinta Real is Mexican chain; we've stayed in most of their hotels...you cannot do better.

Why Huatulco is unknown to Americans i don't know--it is one of the most beautiful settings I have visited, especially form the Quinta Real. This small exclusive hotel set on a hillside overlooking the bay is off the charts beautiful. It isn't inexpensive but it was worth the money. We stayed 4 and a half days.
The staff, the food, the service--it was all first class.
We feel badly for the Mexicans because they need tourists--the Huatulco area was perfectly safe, clean and inviting. We went one night into hte local town and walked around and had a great local dinner and took a local taxi back to the hotel.
The staff at Quinta Real acted like they were glad we were there. Treat yourself to quite the experience and a million dollar view.

This is a shabby old three star, not a five star. Built 15 years ago, it shows signs of little investment since that time. Fittings don't work well, repainting is rough, and the cracks, metaphorical and real, are plain to see. The lazy, lackadaisical, who-cares manana atmosphere reflects inattentive, inexpert, incompetent management and little concern with quality. Food is very poor, and not inexpensive. The only good thing i can say about this hotel is that the pools are nice and you can feed the iguanas. But don't expect to see yesterday's ashtrays emptied.
