My husband and I just got back from a week long vacation at Dreams. It was amazing. The view from our room to the great food. The beach was very nice wide beach and clean. We ate at all the restaurants and all had great food. The town was very safe to go to.The resort had couples and families but very quiet place. We had no complaints. This is a resort that we would return to.

Room Tip: rooms had nice views, food was awesome, pools were not freezing cold and the staff was very friendly

Three years ago we stayed at Dreams and loved everything about it. After being there last week we found that our expectations were again met with the exception of the food. Drinks, service, grounds, room were perfect. However when it came time to eat it was a big disappointment. Breakfast was good, but after that it was down hill. Lunch found me wandering around trying to find something better than the kids buffet for a hot dog and fries. Supper was a disaster, basically the lunch buffet reheated with an option of a tough BBQ steak, which was solved by going into La Crucecita. Loved most everything else about the resort, but go out for supper.

we had a very good trip the food was good and a lot of choices. The out trips were great and you all ways feel very safe had less trouble here than most places we have been.Rooms were clean bed large and comfortable. It would be a great place to take young children as there is a lot of things for then to do. The resort and the surrounding area is very clean great to see when you are from Canada. A lot of canadians there so no problem getting the curling. Will go again someday.

We had a group of 50 stay at Dreams Resort for one week mid-January for our destination wedding. Upon arrival at the airport, things went fairly smoothly. The airport is under renovations so it was a little slow and VERY hot waiting in line, but once we got through security and baggage, we had a very short ride to the hotel! Most of us had to wait to get checked into our rooms as we were a little early, but that was to be expected! Rooms were very adequate...we had a tropical view, jacuzzi on the deck and it was great and had everything we needed.

The wedding coordinator (Pilar) was extremely helpful and had us where we needed to be, at the time we needed to be there. We opted for the wedding to be held in the gazebo, with a cocktail hour in the gardens immediately following the ceremony. Our photographs were done by Miguel and he did a great job of taking and editing them (although it was a little difficult to get the disc with our pictures before we left, and we still haven't received our wedding video almost two months later).

My favorite thing about this location is that the weather is consistent and beautiful! The beach location, pools and bars were great at this resort! Unfortunately several people in our group had a bout of sickness over the week which was a bit of a downer for them. We are not sure if it was food...or a combination of food, alcohol and the heat but nevertheless, it wasn't very nice for those affected. We personally didn't have any food related issues, and always found something we liked on the menu!

Overall, we have a great time and I wouldn't hesitate to return to this resort!

We decided to have our wedding in the same place my husband proposed to me in Sept 2011 (BTW the hotel did a great job helping him propose to me as well), it was the best decision we made. We worked with the wedding planner Pilar Cabrera and she was AMAZING and so easy to work with and made it so easy to NOT worry about ANYTHING and you can imagine that would be hard to do when the only communication you have is email. Pily and the hotel took care of everything for us and our family and friends. Check in was a breeze and the rest of the week there was awesome. Dreams hotel is by far the most friendliest and most accommodating hotel we have ever stayed at. Our friends will defiantly be going back because of the great experience. Because of Pily and the hotel our wedding turned out AMAZING and an unforgettable event for ourselves and our family. This is our 5th yr going there and this will continue to be our family vacation spot! THANK YOU DREAMS AND PILAR!

Room Tip: Rooms closest to the Adult Pool Area is our favorite, easy access to the adult pool area and beach.

We spent the week of Feb.26-March5 at Dreams Huatulco. This is our second visit to this resort..the first being 5 years ago when it was The Gala. It was nice then, but now is a step above.
We booked this trip to celebrate our anniversary. On arrival we saw several changes to the lobby area. A nice improvement over our last trip. Check-in was quick and we were very happy with our room. We were given a room on the 4th floor overlooking a pool with a view of the ocean. On our anniversary we were treated to champagne and fruit in our room..a very nice touch and great PR for the resort.
The bars were very good..I just wish the deck at the lobby bar had been open. We used to sit out there on our last visit. The staff were very good and there was a very good choice of drinks.
We never bothered with the ala carte restuarants..we split our time between the two buffets. Both were standard resort food. We were disappointed in the lack of fresh fruit for both lunch and dinner. Another disappointment was the lack of variety of vegetables. Every night it was a mix of carrots, cauliflower and broccoli. The choices for meat was always very good. Not gourmet dining, but we never expect that at a resort..pretty hard to cook for a few thousand people a night. The theme nights were good..a good variety of dishes and a very nice presentation.
The beach had some improvements from our last visit. More shade and more sand. We never had a problem getting shade and enjoyed sharing it with other guests. The sand gets very hot in the afternoon. Did a bit of snorkelling and ocean swimming. Some days the visibility was pretty poor, but we still managed to get in and have a good time. We tried the adult pool a couple of times. It was kept very clean and the water temperature was good. Unfortunately the shower coming off the beach was not working most days..made it hard to wash the sand off your feet.
We enjoyed the evening entertainment at the lobby bar. Nice mellow music for the most part.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Dreams. It is a very nice, clean resort. The updates from when it was the Gala are a nice improvement. Our bed was probably one of the most comfortable we have had in our many journeys through Mexico. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Huatulco.

This was our second trip to Huatulco. Still my favorite place in Mexico. Nearby shopping and restaurants you can walk to was wonderful. The closest town is 5 minutes away with wonderful bars, shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed Dreams Resort. The food was great, it was clean, wonderful service at the bars and the beach was awesome! No wrist bands for all inclusive, no reservations for specialty restaurants.....nice relaxing vacation.
