We wandered here our first night, tried a variety of other spots and returned here for our final dinner, as we liked it best. The prices are about the same as elsewhere, but the food appeared to be fresher and tastier. the service was very good, though the English was limited. Being off the town square, it was a bit quieter to eat and there were fewer interruptions from wandering vendors.

We were in this restaurant a couple of times during our stay in Huatulco the last week of December 2012. During our first visit it was really hard to get in, there was nobody taking care of "the front of the house" getting you on a waiting list or so. When a table became available, one of the waitress told us it was ok to seat there, and a few minutes later a woman came yelling at us, since she said that the table was reserved for her. A waitress took care of her, and had her and her group sitting in another table that was available by then. In our second visit, we had made reservations through our hotel concierge to prevent any incident, and again, there was nobody to greet us at the entrance, but we talked to a waitress and were seated right away. The food is good, except the corn tortillas that were NOT FRESH and sort of hard to chew (a lady that makes the torillas on the back side of the restaurant was not making them fresh, but reheating tortillas she had in a plastic bag); they only had a couple of dessert choices, flan and cheese cake. This restaurant needs to improve a lot in their organization. Perhaps it would be worth to ty it again in a next trip to the area...

We found to place in trip advisor and it was right on. One light plate was fabulous, which was the avocado tuna salad in the avocado shell. It was more avocado than tuna but outstanding. A variant that was probably better as an after thought, but we didn't order was the shrimp avocado salad. We also ordered two different mole chicken plates, the red mole which was fabulous, but the yellow mole was so, so. Neither was extremely spiced/hot. The pricing was very affordable and very safe.

We will probably go back in this same trip or if we come again.

Clean and fine atmosphere, so-so food, slow service. You can eat better on the street. Period.

We ended up here trying to find a friendly and good place to eat while running from the horrible blasting music at the same time. We like to eat in peace. We made a good decision! El Sabor de Oaxaca has very tasty and fresh food, the service is friendly, the decor is very nice. I didn't like my shrimp cocktail all that much, but everything else was very good. I strongly recommend the enfrijoladas.
