This is a cool little place actually inside the gazebo/bandstand in the La Cruz town square. We only had toast and coffee (several times) there were some tempting menu items to try sometime. The outside seating has shade, bird sounds, cafe music and local vibe is all around you, but it was not too busy. More people there in the evening. One morning after coffee here, we looked the Saturday organic farmers market (with lots of Oaxaca Sierra Madre coffees for sale!). The market surrounded the cafe in the square but we missed the live music there later that day. Cafe staff are very friendly and in the preparation area they are pro baristas.

We are just finishing off the Pluma coffee we brought home, gonna miss it when it's gone. Cafe Huatulco is a gem of a spot, we met some Canadians living/working in Huatulco at the cafe, that's a pretty good sign you are in the right place. Felt sorry for the many cruise ship passengers put on buses beside cafe one day, you missed a great attraction!

One of the best coffee blends ever tasted, great scape for a night to get a good cup of coffee and a delicious tamal with a tasty dessert! Fully recommended!!

Best coffee in Huatulco;! Best stop (along with the church) at Santa Cruz on a warm afternoon or evening. Wonderful ambiance in the old bandstand. Very civilized; open til midnight.
Cafe frio is perfect too. Also selling their beans, Mexican chocolate and Mexican honey. With their coffee beans at 230 pesos for 2 kg (+-$7CAD/lb), the value is exceptional; less than half of coffee beans in Vancouver. I wish they took credit cards, as I'd have taken the beans home to coffee lovers.

Quiet. warm, and felt safe at the cafe in late evening. Have met many people there over the years. One day, we met the Tourst Director for the Resort area of Huatulco and he intoduced us to a peanut butter made exclusively in a town about a hour away from Santa Cruz. Best peanut butter and low in sodium. Taste better than any peanut butter you can find here in the grocery stores.

It's in the middle of a small park, open air, tables under the trees. Good coffee, wonderful juice and some pretty nice local Mexican dishes. Service can be painfully slow some days, but on others as speedy as you would wish. Loved the tomales and enchiladas last week. BUT - probably my fault - those noisy squawking black birds that hop around the whole time, left three warm deposits on my white blouse (cleaned up perfectly later in the wash!). So find a table away from those pests and enjoy the otherwise tranquil location near Santa Cruz.
