Rudy, the owner, does a great job in making you feel welcomed in his very small 3 table restaurant while Cristina does her magic in the kitchen. I was amazed that Cristina remembered what I ate during my first visit when she asked upon my return, "Is that all you're eating? You ordered much more the last time!" She said this in Spanish of course but her attention to detail impressed me.
Rudy's restaurant is reflective of the unfortunate drop in tourism in Acapulco as he cut his restaurant size in half. But there is no denying the great price and service that cannot be equaled in this part of the tourist Golden Zone. There are many restaurant hawks on this corner looking for your business. Fruitiland is on the ground floor just a tad off of the Costera.
I never got a chance to sample Rudy's health conscious fruit drinks but my travel friends all raved about them.
Rudy is such a polite and humble man who speaks very good English. He is not interested tourist exploitation like others in any tourist destinations. He is truly interested in your well being as a person.
When in Acapulco you must go and say hello to Rudy and Christina. Hopefully you will arrive to find an empty table for yourself.
