This mural mosaic is on a very narrow street so be very careful when taking pictures, etc. Our tour guide, Robert Alercon (excellent tour guide if you need a knowledgeable, English-speaking tour guide), gave us great background on the history of these two designs. Very fascinating!

We made a stop to see the mural and it was very interesting. Our guide (Sebastian Hernandez) told us all about Diego Rivera and that he made this beautiful mural as a proposal to his mistress. Very beautiful mural and very interesting story!

It was interesting to see this unique piece of art. Our tour guide provided a detailed history, which helped us appreciate this beautiful piece of art so much more. The home will reportedly be opening in the future as a museum.

Unless you have read up on Aztec and Mayan culture this mural will not mean much to you unless you know what each character means and why he put the snake, the frog, his initials, and his reason for during the mural. I recommend a tour guide to add meaning to the mural.
