“a great Lagoon tour and fantastic lunch at Los Bou Bous courtesy of Baldo Gomez”
Reviewed February 24, 2012

Baldo does it again!!!
on our last day in Acapulco, Baldo suggested that we go to the lagoon and have lunch at this fantastic place called los Bou Bous. This restaurant they take your order, you select a fresh swimming fish, and they cook it for you two different ways (chili and garlic). While they are cooking your food, you jump on a pontoon boat and go with Felix to tour the lagoon and the many narrow passage ways.. this slow tour to look at the birds (flamingos, cranes, storks, grey herrons, tri colored herron, and many more) was extremely relaxing.. And the perfect way to end the day is to go to Los Bou Bous to have an amazing fish and shrimp dinner. Felix's wife cooked amazing fish, and then a dozen shrimp couked a couple of ways.. On top of that we have the best Sopas i have ever eaten..

And once again,. Baldo has shown us the the hidden treasures of Acapulco. Los Bou Bous is definately a hidden treasure.. Thank you Baldo (baldo-work@hotmail.com) for the crowning local experience of our trip!.. and the week was hard to top! from diving with Las Mantarayas, a city tour with super secret locations to get all important panorama shot of Acapulco, more diving and snorkeling, to fantastic meals at local restaurants and not to be missed tourist attractions.. Thank you for a memorable day Baldo..

“A very worthwhile day trip, especially for bird watchers”
Reviewed February 4, 2012

My wife and I spent several hours on a pontoon boat with local guide maneuvering around this unique lagoon outside of Acapulco. We saw numerous flamingos, flocks of pelicans, some beautiful huge storks, hundreds of herons and egrets, eagles, hawks, kingfishers, and many more varieties of birds. We then had lunch at the pontoon guide's family restaurant on the shoreline. Very rustic, but also very delicious seafood right from the lagoon. We were driven on this daytrip by a great local tour guide named BALDO GOMEZ. Very experienced guide with great English skills. Would highly recommend. His email address is baldo-work@hotmail.com. He is a trustworthy guide with a wealth of local knowledge.

“A great way to spend an afternoon.”
Reviewed April 5, 2008

My experience was February 17th 2008 & we made prior arrangements with Sabastian Hernandez a professional guide to show us the sites for the day.

The Lagoon tour was 10.00 USD per person & lasted about 90 minutes. The wildlife was extremely abundant with many different species of birds & a very ample supply of fish. Our Guide was very knowledgable in the identification of the birds that inhabit this Lagoon as well as all the beautiful flowers & greenery that grows in this area.

The boat tour launches from where the restaurant Beto Gadoy is located in Barra Vieja. After returning from our excursion we headed over to Esmirna Del Mar for lunch & to enjoy the rest of the day swimming & relaxing.

We ordered Red Snapper Ala Talla which was out of this world along with some other appetizers & drinks for the rest of the afternoon. This location is a very nice little gem in Barra Vieja & my family & I enjoyed the day very much & highly recommend a day spent in this quiet section.

“Wonderful for bird-watching”
Reviewed January 22, 2007

In Jan. 2007, we went on a boat tour of the Tres Palos lagoon to birdwatch. To arrange the tour, we basically just hopped in a cab at our hotel and told the driver what we wanted. The driver said it was no problem. He took us to a restaurant beside the lagoon. A couple of phone calls were made, and within a few minutes, a boat arrived.

The lagoon tour was outstanding. There are beautiful water lilies and uninhabited islands, and we went silently through areas of mangrove swamp to sneak up on the birds. We saw so many birds—water birds like egrets and herons, many different types of ducks, wild flamingos, and gorgeous kingfishers. Our guide, Guillermo, knew the names of all the birds in both English and Spanish. We also watched local people fishing and catching crabs in the lagoon. The tour was U.S. $45, and we really enjoyed it.

After the boat tour, we disembarked at La Isla del Chaneque, the palapa restaurant. It’s in a lovely location right on the water. Lunch was cheese and shark quesadillas, a huge plate of guacamole and chips, 2 waters, and 2 Pepsi Light—all for only 104 pesos. We enjoyed our afternoon at Tres Palos very much.
