An impressive concert on Feb 22 2013. By the orchestra. 4 selections with intermission starting at nine and over approximate 10:15. Maestro Alvarez spoke, in Spanish, for a time before the performance and fielded questions from the audience. Wish we had found this before.

This year after visiting Cancun, we (my gf and I) agreed on going to Acapulco just to compare these two most popular resorts in Mexico. What can I say? The difference between them is really dramatic. They are completely the same in one thing - street sellers will disturb you all the time, wherever you go. Acapulco seems to be very active city, its concept is clubbing and having fun all day long. You can see that in Cancun too, but to my mind it's not that significant as in Acapulco. I would say that Acapulco is more youth-oriented and Cancun is more family-oriented i.e if you want to travel with your wife and children to feel light breeze on your skin you'd better choose east side of Mexico. If you wish to rock the hell out go towards Acapulco. the ocean in Acapulco was more fun than the Carribean sea. the last one is more beautiful though. And one more important detail that would please anyone - the sand in Cancun is really white and really small. It's such amazing feeling to walk on wet white sand. If you are looking for some peace during the time you plan to spend on the beach - forget about Acapulco, there sellers won't let you relax.

We were lucky to attend a concert on Friday night. The Filarmonica has come a long way since its early days and I was very happy to see an almost full theater. Concerts are FREE and there is a talk, by the Conductor, Maestro Eduardo Alvarez (in spanish) explaining the music and composers that the orchestra will play that night. A wonderful evening !

Went to Acapulco Mexico in August 2010. We stayed at Mayan Palace. On the beach there we met Arturo Soberanis. He invited us to go Deep Sea Fishing, and had a good time. We caught a king mackerel and the captain and crew took us on a site seeing tour too!! It was a lot of fun. The captain cleaned the fish and we cooked him for supper, he we delicious!! Arturo, was genuinely kind and a gentleman. He is truthful and does exactly what he says he will do. It was a pleasure to get to know him, he offered us valuable advise and was very helpful. Wonderful trip! Thank you Arturo for making our trip one of the most memorable we have taken.
