Puerto Marques is one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to - anywhere. The narrow mouth of the bay keeps the waves down, so it's safe and fun even for the littlest kids to swim. The main road is a rutted mess with shops on one side selling bikinis, floaty toys, and coconuts; restaurants on the other side trying to lure you in to sit under their beach palapas; and buses double parked in the middle. I like to take this road all the way to the end to Playa Majahua, where local families hang out. Sundays are quite crowded, other days more relaxed. You can rent a table under an umbrella or in one of the beach restaurants for a pittance, or you can bring your own umbrella. (With the intense Acapulco sun, you're going to want a bit of shade.) Food and beverages are reasonably priced, or you can bring your own. There's a roped off swim area that the boats mostly respect. Be careful if you wander outside of this area, but there is nice snorkeling along the rocks on either side.
