El Cid was recommended to us by a taxi driver. We stayed for one night and tried to haggle over price but no joy.
At £41 the room was very overpriced compared to other mid-range hotels in Mexico. Even by Acapulco standards.
Negatives were - The furniture in the room was very tired. The pillow was hard and the balcony door did not lock. There was no hot water in the bathroom and no way of controlling the air conditioning. Very noisy location next to busy road. Poor tv reception and choice of channels. No remote control.
Positives were - the room was very big, it had a pleasant view over what appeared to be a well-maintained pool, the room and linens were clean. There was a fridge in the room. The hotel has a convenience shop underneath it and a 'healthy' restaurant just outside.
Overall, this hotel was mid-range and very overpriced. Only think about it if the location suits you or you plan to spend all day in the pool.More
