“Relaxed, without the feel of a large resort”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

I spent one night at this hotel, on a Saturday night. Despite the number of rooms and the resort-like look around the swimming pool, the place overall gives a sense of relax and 'chill'. It is right on the beach, where you have so many people trying to sell you all sorts of things / activities. This is however not pressing and annoying. Strangely, the hotel's umbrellas and sunbeds are far from the water, which makes it a challenge to find refreshment in the water, when the sun is high in the sky and the sand burning. Breakfast is quite massive, but food does not seem (and certainly does not taste) very fresh - some is laftovers form the night before. However, you can have some fresh food cooked in front of you. Definitely worth a weekend.

The service was outstanding! Since the very first moment we arrived on the Hotel, everybody was very kind. We need to change one of the rooms because my mom cannot up an down the stairs and They offered us a special room for senior citizens that was very comfortable and with an excellent view to the ocean and the pool.
We had a little problem with our safety box because it had low battery that was fixed immediately.
I strongly recommend the place! I enjoyed my staying a lot!

Room Tip: Rooms with ocean view are the best!

We arrived for one night for business. Upon entering reception, I wanted to change hotels immediately, but it was already paid for. H I have a severe mold allergy and the reception chairs had it all over the back of them. The receptionist couldn't locate my reservation but I had the confirmation number with me. The front desk saw my reaction to mold and sent someone to the room where I was going to stay to make sure that nothing had mold on it. Thankfully it was only a shower mat which the housekeeper immediately removed. The room was a decent size but in definite need of a facelift. Basically the whole property needs to be remodeled. It was obviously built in the seventies and really looks like it. The furniture also needs to be revamped. They still had the old large box televisions but the bed and linens were comfortable. The location is superb, right on the ocean. I had a better opinion of the place the following morning after having a good breakfast in a lovely restaurant right on the beach. I would recommend this hotel to older American and Canadian retirees coming down for a two week mexican vacation.

Room Tip: The room I had was right in front of the ocean with a terrific view.

The manager, Ricardo Mondragon makes all the difference. Gentle, efficient, problem solver and gratious, he welcomes guests who were poorly treated at Fairmont Princess. Pierre Marques is an exclusive, 200 rooms/villas, beautiful and wonderfully located resort with great beach, the best staff, food and premises. Villas are awesome and no crowds like in 1200 rooms Princess and a lousy service.

My congratulations to waiters Eduardo, Isaias, and Jonathan and Mr Mondragon they do understand customer satisfaction, possitive attitude and hospitality business. As the CEO of a Consumer Organization with high standards and after a terrible experience with Princess hotel, I was very impressed with my super wonderful stay at Pierre Marques and its people.

Room Tip: Villas are lovely. Please tip your cleaning lady when you leave they really deserve it and waiters t...

We have stayed at The Pierre Marques for several years now with our friends and return each year knowing that: 1) the weather is almost always "perfect"; 2) the staff ( most of whom we have come to know well) go out of their way to accommodate our wishes ;3) the rooms are clean and there are various configurations available depending on your booking;4) food is plentiful and fresh with either buffet or restaurant options available. As we book an all-inclusive package, the value is good for our group. Since the resort is managed by Fairmont - there is also access and the option to dine and enjoy the pools at the sister hotel - The Fairmont Acapulco Princess - which has been a landmark in the Acapulco area for years. Small buses run between the 2 hotels frequently (about a 5-minute ride). With several restaurants to choose from - dining is rarely boring. Although the Fairmont (and other local hotels) have suffered in the past with lower visitor numbers due to bad press about the Acapulco area, it is important to note this resort is not in the city itself, but in an adjoining bay. This area is nowhere near the "problematic" areas reported in the press. As a result of this, some of the resort restaurants were not open daily last year, but the accommodating staff, the great weather and the magnificent sunsets, were a bigger bonus than dining in a different restaurant every night.
The Pierre overlooks a magnificent stretch of pristine beach and one can walk for miles. However, I must admit the beach vendors can be a bit annoying. But, no one if forcing you to buy -- so, it's just a matter of polite refusal. The grounds are beautifully maintained and it is a little piece of tropical paradise" away from the cold northern winter and only a 15-minute ride from the airport -- a great plus after a 4 + hour flight from Toronto. The Pierre has two pools overlooking the ocean and one located in another area with a playground for children. There are also pools at The Princess . It is interesting to note that there are some people who have returned to The Pierre for more than 40 years -- a great testament to any resort. It's like the old saying: "If it ain't broke, why fix it?"

The rooms were nice and big, but the air conditioning was not working properly in some cases. Location is really nice, with beautifull waves right in front of the hotel. Didn't like all the local vendors that won't let you relax on the beach in front of the hotel.... The walks on the beach were epic as well as the sunsets... Fantastic!! Breakfast was good with a lot of fruits and some nice tacos. Staff was very attentive and nice. Overall, a good experience.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights.

Registration was fast and I immediately noticed that the grounds are great. They have three pools, including one for children. There is lots of open space and all the restaurants and pools are very clean.

The rooms, however, are below average. The floor had some stains and it's only swept, so you can feel the dust when you're walking without socks. Painting is also needed on the hallways. I also had a problem with a horrible sound coming out of the WC. They changed a part within minutes after I called, but it ruined a night of sleep (it happened around 2 AM).

I give it a 4 because you also have access to the pools at the nearby Princess hotel and they're fantastic.

All things considered, I had a very good stay, but there are some things to improve.

They charge 125 MXN for each night of parking.
