Princess Mundo Imperial
Ranked #9 of 168 Hotels in Acapulco
Reviewed August 7, 2012

I have been staying several times per year at the Fairmont Princess in Acapulco for more than five years now, but after four very bad experiences in this place I finally had to accept that Fairmont Princess is nothing but a shadow of what it used to be and could have been today.

When you arrive you are checked in by a very inexperienced person, and if you want to check in with a debit card, they want to charge you all the nights and in addition also an amount for you to spend during your stay.
When asked why they do like this in contrary to normail policy of other five star hotels all over the world, I was answered that they are afraid I will not pay my bills, sign with incorrect names in order to avoid payments, and more reasons from criminally related inspirations.

The beach and pool area, the restaurants and spa etc. is no longer sufficient for the number of rooms available after they have built two more buildings with rooms and no extra facilities.
They have tried to compensate for this by charging you approximately 25USD to use the beach area, and no, this is in no way included in the price of the room in spite of the fact that you pay a high price (min.200USD) per night on a BEACH resort.!

I have now moved to Banyan Tree resort instead as, this is by no standards whatsoever qualified to be a five star resort anymore.
No maintenance, poor service, ridiculous accusations of mistrust and at the same time an attitude of arrogance.
Unskilled staff with only one qualification: Low price.

The Fairmont Acapulco Princess have become a very expensive Holiday Inn, but with poorer service.
This is sad, as there is all the potential for a real five star resort if the management and staff would just realize that the guests are a higher priority than their profits.

I came here on business with others. We never left the hotel and most of us got sick toward the end of our trip from the food. In addition, some of our items got stolen by the staff from locked conference rooms.

Checking in took about 10 minutes and checking out took half an hour. There were errors on the bill which was hard to read.

Yes, the pools are beautiful, but the quality of the food (not cheap), the lack of care and security fromn the staff and the overall disregard of the Fairmont Brand makes this a hotel to skip.

This was the first Fairmont I have stayed at and it is an amzing hotel. I have stayed here about 3 times and each stay has been great. The staff is kind a helpful. We have never had any problems here except for once when a fish filet they had made me extremely ill. I was vomiting horribly all night, but it thankfully did not become anything major. Aside from that bad experience, the food and restaurants here are great! Eating at the Beach Club is so relaxing right about sunset time. You just sit down eat and enjoy the afternoon. Awesome! The pools here are also great as well. We all have fun just spending hours by the pool! This hotel is definitely something you shouldn't miss!!

Room Tip: You do not need a corner room to have a great view! Even the partial views are amaing.

Last May due to flight problems, our plan could not land in Mexico City, so we had to stay in Acapulco instead. The flight company has accomodate my husband and I at this hotel.
It was so a nice surprise to spend just one night at this hotel.
The room was quite beautiful! The hotel itself is stunning: lobby, swimming pool, restaurants.
However, the beach it´s not good: the water color is brown and strong waves.
Acapulco certainly is not the best option for beautiful beaches, at least, the hotel beach.
The hotel is excellent option, worth going!

One of the nicest places to stay in ACA. Bring the family as they have 4 pools, one is the lagoon pool with water slide. Food was very good and everyone went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. We called for more towels and some one responded in 5 minutes in a place this big I was very impressed. Stay at the newer section on the west side.

Lovely hotel, great facilities, with everything you need on the resort. The service however leaves a lot to be desired with check in taking over and hour and every visit to the reception desk gets more and more infuriating! The staff like to disappear in to the back office for 10 minutes at a time for no obvious reason whilst trying to resolve the most basic of things. I was there working so the speed was an issue but if your not in a hurry it shouldn't get in the way of the stunning surroundings and relaxing atmosphere.
