“Good vacations, nice Hotel and great detination”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Hotel has a great location in the main avenue of the Acapulco golden zone, hotel area. This is not a good location at night when you want to sleep and the noise of the bars and disco is there all the night. the hotel has very good installations, the main pool is very nice, but if you go on vacation season you better arrive early to the pool to get a chair to spend your day. Rooms are very nice and comfortable.
The beach is very nice as the rocks in front of the hotel, in the water do not allow the waves to be rude with swimmers.
Breakfast is very good, but dinner is recommended in restaurants outside the hotel. Do not accept the invitation for breakfast to sell vacation club, you will spend all the morning there.

Hello,

Does the hotel have shuttle or bus service from the airport? I want to be safe. Any help is appreciated.
Also restaurant ideas? This will be the first time I go to Acapulco. The pictures of the resort look wonderful.

Room Tip: rated 4 stars through RCI - will travel in Nov of 2014.... just need advise please.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014 via mobile

We stayed at the Fiesta Americana Villas as part of a larger trip to the Acapulco area that included 3 nights at the Fiesta and 5 nights at Banyan Tree Cabo Marques. We found the Fiesta to be the best place to stay on the Costa Dorada and a good base to explore old Acapulco. It was better than we expected and given that there are no luxury options on the Costera that we knew of (Las Brisas and Encanto were too far away for what we wanted for this portion of our trip) -- we found that the Fiesta was comfortable and ideal for our purposes. This is very much a family resort and there were lots of children but we did not find this a problem - we enjoyed the hustle and bustle. Regarding safety in Acapulco, we never felt even a tinge of sketchiness. Even at night the Costera was full of life with families and couples strolling the streets, locals jogging, and kitschy horse drawn carriages decorated with balloons and pulsating lights doing their rounds on the street. During the day there were plenty of decent breakfast, lunch and dinner options right by hotel and again, very safe and friendly.

We booked a one bedroom suite and found that the room had good bones. Spacious, clean, and with an excellent layout, we were pleasantly surprised. The Living kitchen dining area was well laid out. The U shaped kitchen was fully kitted with fridge, stove and microwave, and stocked with lots of utensils including a citrus press for margaritas :). The dining table was built into the wall on one side and easily sat four. The living room had a good sized (but hard) couch and four cube poufs formed the coffee table which allowed for flexibility. Very large flat screen in both the living room and bedroom. The Bedroom had a decent bed and could be closed off from the living dining area. Bathrooms were a good size with jacuzzi bath and double sinks - ample toiletries were by Somma which we haven't heard of but were fruity smelling and nice. No separate shower though. Two large balconies, one off of bedroom and one off of living. Great views of the bay. We were initially on the east side with ocean view but moved rooms due to odd odour in the room. A front desk person came up to check and we were promptly moved. Rooms on the east side have no noise problems. Our second room was on the west side, same room type and layout, but facing old Acapulco with an excellent view of the Costera to old Acapulco and the bay. On this side noise was a small annoyance at night due to the battling nightclubs and a small bar across from the hotel that played live corrida music on the street, but didn't prevent either of us sleep. Still the views at night were wonderful and we actually preferred this view to the one facing east - while the view of the bay was comparable, facing Brisas, there were a lot of condos in the foreground and they blocked the view of the Costera. Overall the rooms were good but could use a little pick me up and maybe a little glitz. They were fine for our purposes though with ample space.

Given the great number of places to eat around the Costera we did not eat at the hotel restaurants much. We initially were not planning to have breakfast at the hotel, as we checked out the menu and the buffet and didn't find the options very interesting. It was also very busy as well with a combination of hotel guests and people doing the time share tour in which breakfast was included. We preferred 100% Natural which was across the street and Casa de Los Abuelos, a cab ride a way and wonderful. We ended up having breakfast at the hotel at the end of our stay and it was ok. The service was great as were the patio tables facing the bay, but the food was nothing special. On our first night, arriving late, we had the Italian buffet for dinner as we were starving and the food was just not good. Service was great and the pasta station was ok but the food on the buffet was low end fare and not worth it. We also had the lunch grill buffet which took place on the terrace beside the main pool and that was pretty good. Decent cold salads - excellent potato salad and more - and freshly grilled meats and fish. Really good by the pool with beer. But the grill chef was very slow at doing the grilled items and he did not seem to want to dole out very much which was disappointing - we'd order additional stuff and it never came. Overall the grill buffet was a good time. F&B should really up their game in general though as the main dining room is really quite pleasant with excellent views and good servers; it's a shame that the Starbucks at the entrance is so busy but the main restaurant is not.

The pools were excellent but very busy on the weekend. Upper pools were lovely with views out to the bay and lots of sun, ample loungers and tent cabanas. Lower pool was closer to the beach and had more shade, cloistered among some beautiful trees. Great bar service at both. The private beach was quite nice with golden sand, clear water and lovely large boulders both on the beach and further out in the water which were scenic but also acted as a natural breakwater - the surf was much calmer than at other areas. It was busy. We had no problems with beach merchants as there weren't that many and "no gracias" was always enough. The beaches of the Costa Dorada were quite nice in an urban beach sort of way - really enjoyed Playa Condesa and Icacos - full of activity and we actually preferred them to Revolcadero on the Diamante side. Rented a jet ski for an hour for 90.00 USD and it was totally worth it - they let you basically go anywhere you want and we toured the entire bay almost going round to Puerto Marques (in retrospect we should have).

Service was very good. Front desk was prompt and effective, and Ivan who became our point of contact was thorough. He asked how our stay was every time we saw him and always followed through. The Guest Services Manager Jesus Arteaga Arteaga was friendly and genuinely interested in how things were going. Front of house and waitstaff at all the restaurants we did go to were terrific, and the bell staff was both friendly and reliable. Overall we had a good stay and found the Fiesta a great value. Friendly staff and great location at the center of the Costera.

We came here for a relaxing time and we have very much enjoyed the pools, not too crowded and the room and Heath club have been very nice. The 2 best places to eat nearby are not in trip advisor. Across the street around the corner and up some stairs is chili, maiz y frijoles and to the left conclesa 10 tacos for 60 pesos is a winner. At the hotel they could not serve pizza one day and once we ordered a monitor and they could not make it. Very strange, but, atmosphere makes up for it. Most people only speak Spanish, but, they want to help.

We were checking in and a group of guys distracted us by spilling ketchup on my bag while stealing my husband's passports. It was at the counter with security guards (supposedly) and a camera just above our heads. The hotel security officer took us to the tourist bureau, but that was it. They take no responsibility whatsoever and id not compensate us in any way.

We rented one of the 3 bedroom condos and it was great! There were 3 bedrooms each with it's own bathroom and balcony. There was a huge dining/living room area. The kitchen was fully equipped with microwave, stove, refrigerator all dishes and utensils. Very clean and everyone at the hotel was very nice and accomodating. From the outside the hotel looks very plain and old but inside is a very different story. Everything in the condo was updated and extremely clean. We had 6 in our group but could have accomodated a few more easily. Great pool area, wonderful bar/restaurant with great wait staff. We stayed on the 4th floor so that we could hear the ocean from our balcony. Beautiful views. Great location in the middle of everything, felt very safe. Beach in front of the hotel is the best on the whole costera! A/C worked great!

Room Tip: All of the 3 bedrooms have ocean views. Stay on a lower level to hear the ocean!

This is my first day here and I am not happy. I'm apart of Hilton grand vacations club and I am surprised that this facility is still an option. The rooms are fine but everything outside of the room us not. I'm really appalled at the fact that the staff is not bilingual. Whenever I gave a question they have to go and find someone to assist. Also, there are too many locals at this facility. Not sure if it's the time if year, but I wish someone would have informed me. The pool was overcrowded with the locals and kids. Not appealing at all. The food is absolutely awful. I'm hoping my day improves tomorrow.
