Architects did a wonderful job with the updates, food was good, but unfortunatelly it seems owners still havent found a person that knows how to manage the property. Want cool and service try Las Brisas. Have the $$$$$? go to Banyan Tree

I am not one to give praise unless it is well deserved; however, I can easily say that I will always remember this hotel as one of the most memorable and amazing places I have ever visited. The hotel was acquired and renovated by Grupo Habita, a chain of very well designed boutique hotels in Mexico. I stay at Grupo Habita's properties quite often but this place is truly unique. The designers have managed to evoke the style and vibe of 'Old Acapulco' with fresh, clean interiors and gorgeous outdoor spaces all tied into a retro vibe. Be sure to visit the spa (most of the spa amenities are free), eat at the restaurant (reasonably priced Mexican and Japanese food), and hire the boat rides provided by the hotel. It appears that the service issues discussed in the previous reviews have been addressed as we have absolutely no complaints there. You will be blown away by the views, the vibe, and they style of this place. If you want to take a beach vacation, do the Boca Chica.

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews of the newly reopened Boca Chica. Perhaps because guests to the new hotel are too cool to post a review on tripadvisor? I felt a little intimidated by the other guests when I dropped by in May, but aside from that I loved the hotel. It definitely lived up to my high expectations for Habita Group hotels, based largely on my experiences with Condesa DF.

Stepping inside the hotel grounds is like being transported back in time to a wonderfully chic 50s/60s resort. Although as soon as you step outside the hotel you're instantly into the chaos, traffic and overdevelopment that is Acapulco 2010. I would go back in an instant if I could spend my whole time lazing by the pool or on a balcony hammock, and be able to block out the trauma of negotiating Acapulco traffic to reach the hotel (perhaps arriving by private boat, as the Boca Chica suggests, is the way to go).

Hi,despite an excellent location, and a good level of facilities. It is quite one of the worst managed hotels in Acapulco. the laughably poor level of service in restaurant and bar... and the manager attitude defending his employees mistakes !

This is a management that does not deserve to be in business.

First of all ... don't pay attention to any reviews writen before 2010. The son-in-law of the riches man in the world, who is Mexican, has completly redone this hotel.

If you walk around the area outside the hotel, you won't be rubbing shoulders with the Rockefellers; but inside the hotel grounds will take you to another place. The nature and the birds are wonderful. A place to relax, read, and dream. Charter a boat from their own private dock ... live the good life.

Our stay was so great ... that we bought one of the new condos on the hill behind the hotel. Now we have my own little piece of this area and one of the best views in the world. So you could say, the hotel has changed our lives:>)

I hope you have the same experience!!!

The hotel is closed for renovation since late 2007.
I love its charm and location. A truly unique spot.
The much needed reno can only improve it.
The views are superb.
