When you are in Acapulco, dont miss a trip to the fort. You may not feel it too great compared to other forts and palaces in other places in Mexico, but a visit here is worth it. The view of the Acapulco Bay from the fort is breathtaking, which you cant afford to miss.

Easy to find. If you are on a cruise ship it's right across the street from the dock on Acapulco harbour. Very well maintained. Easy to navigate. It reveals a history of the new world dating to the 15th century. Museum displays in Spanish and English. Gift shop. History buffs will love this, but I really think that children will enjoy exploring it also.
The fort is easy to find and you can tour it w/o a guide. The displays are in Spanish and English (mostly) and very informative. Never knew that Acapulco was a trade route to the orient, which is what they focused on. Most people see the fort in 1 hour, but we took 2.
Very interesting and lots of Historical informatiom about Acapulco and its past. Situated towards the Zocalo another place well worth a visit and very informal
Lots of interesting facts in this quaint, small museum at the fort.
Closed on Mondays.
Not far from the Zocalo, so you can do the fort in the morning, visit the Catedral at the Zocalo next and then have the pizza!
