Las Brisas Acapulco
Ranked #4 of 168 Hotels in Acapulco
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 26, 2014

Red hibiscus flowers floating lazily in the private sparkling pool of your casita. The magnificent Acapulco Bay tranquil yet captivating at your feet. This landmark boutique hotel is a testament to the golden age of the 60's but let this not deter you. Acapulco is experiencing a resurgence like no other. Mexican hospitality is unsurpassed at Las Brisas from the pink and white signature color scheme jeeps that seamlessly whisk you about to the "fine dining" offered. You may think all this is for the rich but what makes this even more enticing is that a traveler on a modest vacation can enjoy "paradise on earth".
We predict that within a short time Acapulco will be the "jewel of the Pacific" again and that Las Brisas will be it's shinning star. Many newer resorts have and will be built but location, location, location plus service, service, service will make Las Brisas the only place for travelers. Yes, Mexico is safe. The people are gracious. The weather is ideal.

My husband and I have been to Las Brisas many times and we continue to return because it is the very nicest place to stay in all of Acapulco. The casitas are beautiful as well as your own private pool. The service is A-1. La Concha was on our menu every day where we enjoyed some great margaritas and great food. Everyone at the hotel was polite and professional and complete privacy is guaranteed. We were picked up at the airport in Acapulco by our driver, Sebastian Hernandez. Sebastian was very dependable and professional. He runs a company which you can locate on his website...acapulcoforall.com. If you need a reliable driver who also offers tours, please give Sebastian a try. Back to Las Brisas...it's just a wonderful, wonderful resort.

I'm currently in residence in my 4th floor casita with full sized swimming pool, enjoying a margarita and taking in one of the most breathtaking views in the world! There's something magical about this place that's difficult to pinpoint. Maybe it's the mystery of & intrigue of all the beautiful people that have once stayed in this exact suite in the 50's & 60's? Or is it the feel of exclusivity that's felt as you drive into the grounds away from the tacky bars, the hustle & craziness of downtown Acapulco? Whatever it is the place is enchanting. The service so far has been amazing. The suite is clean, safe & property beautifully maintained. The staff so happy to please & some are still here since those heady days when Acapulco was cool & hip & swinging. Oh, if these walls could talk, the stories they could tell! So, don't believe the hype! Acapulco is back baby & Las Brisas hotel still rocks!

Room Tip: The high floor suites are the most private. Ask for an upgrade. This is a large property with many s...

We chose this as it had such rave reviews on trip advisor.
The cumulative effect of a number of things make this 'poor'.
The first is the surly reception desk check in - it really didn't feel welcoming at all, for a resort with such a pedigree. A poor first impression.
The food in the Bella Vista restaurant was good and service too - but one pays a premium for the view.
Getting a car to the Beach club, La Concha, is a bit of a pain - and its rather silly it has to close at 18.00 - you cant have a drink by the sea or watch the sun set down there. It all means you cant move in Las Brisas without a buggy to drive you.
The worst thing was that on 2 nights (of 4) we had to kill enormous cockroaches in our room and on the (private) terrace. They are disgusting critters and clearly the hotel doesn't fumigate, or fumigate frequently enough. Luckily, the roaches appeared on our last two nights - otherwise we would have checked out and gone somewhere else. The bathroom looked old and grubby - I think the natural stone work disguises the dirt.
The breakfast that's delivered to your room: a few buns in a cellophane bag, a few slices of fruit and pot of coffee - nothing to look forward to!
The views are nice BUT I do advise you insist on, and pay for, a view of the bay : the other side has a sea view, but in the distance, and over a busy and smelly hill road (with trucks, lorries and cars belching their exhaust fumes). The higher up the hill you can be the better.

So - all in all there are very few redeeming features and I would never return to Las Brisas.

Room Tip: insist on a view of ACAPULCO BAY (not the opposite side which has a hills, smelly street)

I had a casita (No 337) with shared pool and luckily the neighbors never showed up.
It was a fantastic stay and the best hotel ever. Staff is very attentive and helpful.
The view is fantastic and it feels like being alone. I will definitely come back, it's a great place for honeymoon.
The private beach club La Concha is very quite with 2 salt water pools and one normal. And you can really relax here -away from all the vendors on the regular beach.

Room Tip: If you have the money, take a private casita. The higher, the better.

We had a good stay here. No doubt, this is a great (but pricey) place. Very comfy bed, nice ceiling fan (so AC not needed), large room, and awesome private pool (much bigger than we expected). The hotel is very generous with towels, all staff were friendly, and dialling 0 for all needs was a nice touch. We ate three lunches at the poolside restaurant: fine each time but probably not exactly value for money (my rib eye cost 400 pesos but nothing about it was special).

Still, things could've been better. We would've liked to have WiFi available (free, of course, as it should be these days); the kids club mentioned on web site wasn't available, yet web site hadn't indicated it was only a weekend thing (if at all); the morning coffees weren't great (we ended up driving down to a Starbucks drive-thru!); our fridge was weak and too small; the shower was basic and took ages to get the temp. right (wasting a lot of water); and most importantly, the place is a bit scary for parents with young kids, especially as the barriers around the pool area / balcony aren't very child-proof so we had a few scares with our son coming too close to falling over and falling the 20 feet to asphalt below (yes, yikes!).

If these issues could be fixed we'd say this place is truly value for money. As it stands, 4 out of 5 is about right for us. A nice place to stay, one that could be better. Even so, we do want to go back!

We went on a two month honeymoon and this was our last stop. We have traveled lots of the world and stayed in very very expensive suites overlooking harbors and waters and oceans. Never the less, there is no place in the world that we miss as much as Las Brisas Acapulco. From the flowers and swans kissing on the bed, to the unbeatable service. From the private master suite on top of the mountain with our own L shaped pool and last to mention the open pink jeeps, there is no place better for a romantic getaway! I must mention this stay was 4 years ago but I never wrote a review and I felt I had to.
