“Terrific lagoon tour and great fresh fish meal.”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Baldo took us the visit Los Bou Bous and Felix took us out on a lagoon tour with his son Victor. Victor jumped off the boat and picked lillies for my wife, daughters and grand-daughter which Felix made into lily necklaces for them. When we got back to their home, La Senora had made us a meal of red snapper and sea bass that had been freshly caught. Fantastic meal!

After a tour of the lagoon with Felix, we enjoyed a delicious fish meal prepared by his wife. The fish is fresh from the lagoon and was one of the highlights of our trip.

“Favorite restaurant/excursion year after year”
Reviewed October 29, 2008

We have been to BouBou's every year for the past five or six years, and always have a fantastic meal and tour of the lagoon. Felix, the proprietor, takes good care of you in terms of a boat tour and his wife is an excellent cook. We always arrive in early afternoon and make a plan with Felix for the afternoon - usually about 1-1/2 hours on a boat tour (focusing on bird watching) and coming back for a meal. We tell him beforehand what we want (usually a large red snapper - huachinango; camarones, etc). and then don't have to wait long to have food when we come back from our tour of the lagoon. Felix has gotten more and more sophisticated in terms of his ability to identify birds, and we usually discuss (with my limited Spanish) the difference in names between English and Spanish. Our meals are always top-notch, with unbelievabley fresh fish and shrimp. It can be a little difficult to find BouBou's, but if you continue through the main part of Barra Vieja, there is usually a sign on the left for BouBou's - then you have to brave some dirt roads and follow some very crude signs - but it is all well worth it!

“Best Authentic Mexican Restaurant w/ Lagoon Boat Tour”
Reviewed June 22, 2008

June 15, 2008
A fantastic get-away for you and your family from the hectic pace of Acapulco city. Take a trip east of Acapulco to Barra Vieja and eat the best authentic Mexican food along with taking a relaxing private boat tour of the Tres Palos Lagoon with your expert native tour guide, Felix. The boat tour takes you to a birder’s paradise with Felix knowing just where to find all the birds and then making sure you get just the photographs you want to take along the route. Felix is very knowledgeable about the lagoon and all the various birds that are plentiful along the tour route. The cost per person includes: a lagoon boat tour, an authentic Mexican meal prepared by Felix’s wife, some fishing and having an all natural mud mask applied. Well worth the money and the best relaxation and fun for the day while visiting Acapulco. Your best bet to get there is to contact Cesar Oleo Santos, the best English speaking tour guide in Acapulco, on his cell phone [--] or email, c_olea_santos@yahoo.com.
Accompanying this review are a few photos from the lagoon tour.
