Courtyard Monterrey San Jeronimo/Valle
Ranked #26 of 96 Hotels in Monterrey
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Pros:
* Clean and updated room
* Small, but working gym with 2 treadmills, bike and elliptical
* Typical Courtyard experience in Monterrey
* Within walking distance to several nice restaurants

Cons:
* Across the street from railroad tracks--dont be surprised to be awakened at all hours of the night by street traffic or trains blowing their whistle
* As stated earlier, gym is really small...

Room Tip: High floor away from the road is probably preferred...

Being the director for a foreign company in Monterrey, Mexico, I was looking for a safe, modern and well-equipped lcation for our many visitors to stay. Monterrey is not the safest city in Mexico so security is very important. This facility is top notch here.
For business travellers, gym access, wireless internet, bottled water and coffee in the room are all key items and are provided free of charge. Gym is open 24 hours which is rare these days.
The price we were offered as a corporate rate was almost half of another hotel we had been using and it did not offer the same amenities.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms in the back. There are train tracks across the road from the front of the hotel and i...

We stayed at this hotel manly because they were the only ones in the area that allowed us to leave our car with them while we were on another trip; of course we had stayed with them a couple of nights before and another couple after coming back; but still, no other hotel wanted to do this for us in the area, one was but they wanted to charge per day like if we were leaving the car at the airport. Once there I must say the stay was very pleasant, staff is nice and helpful, hotel is clean and neat maintained. Location is good in Monterrey if you want to be near San Pedro shopping locations and near downtown.

Room Tip: If you make your reservation in advance thru Marriott web, you may get a better price than a few day...

Located within 10 minutes of the airport. You can arrange airport pick up. If you come in late be prepared to be picked up by the Hampton Inn bus, not a problem. Staff very friendly, nice lounge area. Rooms a little dated but very clean and well appointed. The only negative is the small and I mean small sleeper couch. It's exceptionally low to the floor, almost something like you'd find in your children's room. The couch cushions are lower than the small table in front of the couch. The cushions have zero support. That's it for the negative. The bed is a little firmer than most courtyards you find, but a firmer for most of us is just fine. The Resturant is (just) great, compared to most over priced hotel restaurants the owners of this Courtyard price their Munem right to keep guests in the hotel. Really, after a long hard day of work do you really want to go out and look for a Resturant, not me! This Resturant had very good choices and a nightly selection. Breakfast and lunch buffets are very good and reasonably priced. Managers host nights also a welcome for travelers.

I recently had to spend one night in Monterrey and found a great rate at this hotel. Did not had a chance to use any of the guest services as the cafeteria or the fitness center since while in Monterrey and staying next to the City of Garza Garcia, you can do a lot of things there. In Garza Garcia there is a whole street with a running track for 5K and it is pretty safe. You would see a lot of people jogging and walking there. Also for food, many options. So if you are in Monterrey for work or pleasure, this is a good choice. Clean rooms and good service.

If you are in Monterrey for business, the Courtyard by Marriott is a natural choice.

Hotel is clean, staff is amicable, and you are in a 'safe' area of Monterrey.

Don't expect to see the local channel with the news, they have blocked it so guests don't worry about the situation in Monterrey. Although they do have a selection of the local newspapers, so you can keep up to date with all of the horrifying events that go on in this business mecca.

No wireless in rooms, so you will need to bring an extension for your laptop, if you want to get online and be in bed while doing so.

This is a top rated business hotel by locals, and people from Mexico City doing business on a regular basis with this northern City.

Room Tip: the higher the better, ask for rooms on the 5th to 10th floor...
