i stayed at the fastos hotel on nov. 05th, is located infront of bus station, and the metro station cuahtemoc, the price is very cheap 600 pesos for 2 people 1 night, they have room service available 24 hours that is very nice.

"The facilities" they have a bussines center with 2 computer complementary that is very nice, they have wake up call, hot water, a/c and the room is very nice they have cam in all the floor for a better security, safy deposit box and the most important thing the bathroom is very clean and clean towels.

tips... if you go to manterrey stay in this hotel the last night because is cheaper to take the bus station who leaves each our name vivaaerous tu the airport 5 usd it take 45 min stead of a taxy around 50 usd.

defently i´ll be back ......

Excellent Hotel for all travelers. Your right across from the bus station and a 3 min walk across the street from it. The Lucho Libre arena is on the other corner. There are a million taxis passing by there so you don't need a car while your there, the fare is extremely reasonable. your close to a lot fo the attractions and most taxi rides will be under $3 dollars. Your right in the middle of Barrio Antigua, The Gran Plaza(there are museums and a palace here) and the Baseball Hall of Fame/The Modelo Brewery..this is an must see and totally free. And for the single men there are attractions and clubs close by. Monterrey is a wonderful city and there is so much to see, so where comfortable shoes!!

We were living in Eagle Pass TX at the time of our trip to Monterrey and had heard about a great marketplace called "Villa Santiago" and were told that a clean, comfortable and not expensive hotel to stay at would be the FASTOS. We did NOT speak spanish but knew we could get around okay. No problems making the reservation! The room was around $50; cleaner than most in the US; wonderful powerful shower and the service was exemplary. The restaurant at the hotel served excellent food (menu in spanish and waitress did not speak english) Sangria was delicious and the meal was great. I wish we could find hotels in the US for this price and so clean. This is a good place to stay if you plan to be doing a lot of sightseeing or if you take the bus to Monterrey. Monterrey is difficult to drive in - we got lost finding the hotel, but stopped a cab driver and he ushered us directly to the hotel. GO to Villa Santiago market on Sunday for unbelievable deals and wonderful Mexican food. judy Smiley

Hotel Fastos is very good for those who are traveling by bus further into Mexico. The Hotel sits directly across the street, Avenida Colon, from the giant Monterrey bus station.

You can cross the street with your luggage, and walk into the lobby.
The staff is friendly and the rooms go for about 55 US Dollars per night.

The rooms are modern and clean, and there is a quite good 24 hour restaurant just off the hotel lobby.

The next day, you can continue your trip further into Mexico, by simply walking back across the street to the bus station. There is no need for taxi cabs if you stay here. There is a supermarket (Gigante) about two blocks up the street, and an ATM nearby, so you can stock up on Pesos.

The hotel has good security, and a free breakfast beginning at 7am. You can purchase phone cards from the front desk, and there are public phones in the lobby.

There is also a lobby bar.

I always stay at Fasto's. It is right across from the bus station in Monterrey. You will not need a cab. It is relatively expensive ($66/ night) but well maintained. The AC and hot water always work
and the rooms are always sparkling clean. They also have a great restaurant. I figure it is worth the convenience and you are saving cab fare so it makes the price a little more reasonable. Also, I have never needed a reservation. They have good security and very courteous bell-hops.
After a long bus ride, I am just not in the mood to go hotel hunting I guess!
